silly me, I load all the heavy cargo in the cargo area. If it is too big to fit, then I load on my flatbed trailer. 14 years later my seat belts work just fine.

".....operator error....." is one of the design criteria...AKA design for the
idiot and gorilla

Add signage/manuals/sticker galore to the design requirements...that just about
no one reads...but is accepted by the courts as a min you must do...knowing they
won't read them

But...designers can only go so far protecting users. There needs to be some
accountability by the users

Do agree that it sounds lame, as folks (me included) load boxes, etc...heavy ones
all the time on the seats of vehicles (cars included) and that this should not
have been allowed by those checking/approving the design(s)

🙂 Hi, I would call it operator error if the customers are loading heavy objects on top of their seat belt buckles. Seat belt buckles will need to be made so as to not be able to lay on the floor.

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 3,700 2016 Ford F-150 trucks equipped with multi-contour seats. If the multi-contour front passenger seat massage function is turned on and an adult is in that seat, the occupant classification system may incorrectly classify the adult as a child – suppressing the front passenger airbag and increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

It's soooo hard to pass up on all the jokes when Ford sets it up that nicely... 😉

Glad to see Ford addressing the issue.

I see inspecting the seat belts is one option. what is then to prevent smashing them later with a heavy object???
