Removing WDH at site

Just wondering what everyone does. Sometimes we stop at campsites for 1 or 2 nights. In order to go do things around town we unhook the TT. Removing the WDH off and on again within a day is heavy and time consuming. Any tips or suggestions from everyone how to get better at that part would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

If I am going to be someplace for more than a day when I unhook from the ball I pull forward just far enough to pull the stinger from the truck. I pull it and snap the ball back into the trailer coupler and swing it to the side. Doing this makes it so that there is minimal lifting and movement. I always have a lock on both the coupler and the stinger when attached. The bars I just wipe the grease off and position across the A frame of the trailer between the propane tanks and battery box.

When we stow the bars in the pass through, we put socks on them. An old pair of crew socks doesn't take up much room while traveling and they fit the curve of the bars perfectly. When they get too greasy, just toss them and get another pair. There are always old ones lying around.

I don't get this one, you toss them when greasy and get others? First, why not wipe them off and second, seems costly to get other bars and if used or laying around, to be sure the bars are the correct strength. Anyway, to each his own.

I hope they meant toss and replace the old greasy socks not the old greasy bars!

Of course they meant the socks...why would they toss the bars???
I have electric stabilizer jacks and store the bars on top the jack assembley, just slide them on top,one each side. You can also add a small lock if needed.

I leave the bars attached to our Equalizer hitch and swing them around so they are under the Yukon. The hitch has not been off for about 3 years. Sometimes I will put a plastic bag over the hitch to protect us from the grease, if we need to get stuff out of the rear of the Yukon.

So when you drive around the bars do not swing out and get in the way? No issues with someone taking them? Finally mine have just a plastic clip to hold them in place, do yours as I would be afraid the clip would break in time.

Always off.Sometimes I put the hitch in the truck(in case I need it to pull something else) and the bars in the trailer under storage or both in the trailer if I'm staying in one place a while and know need to tow anything else for a while.

I remove mine every time and just put the hitch and WD bars under the tongue of the trailer usually. I've knocked my shins into that hitch too many times.

We leave the WD head in the truck receiver for the 5 omnths we travel in the winter. It is locked into the receiver on the truck. When we unhitch just the bars are removed and left with the trailer.

Equalzer head coupled to the TT hitch (with a lock), bars remain attached and resting in the L brackets. This is how I store the hitch all year long at home or at a CG

This thread reminded me of a product I came across a while back. Looks pretty slick. Would really like it for moving the hitch head from shed to truck and back.

To the OP, sometimes I just turn the bars back in amd under on Equalizer, sometimes pull just the bars, locked in bed under tonneau, sometimes whole thing comes off. Depends how energetic I am feeling I guess. And how much driving in town/parking we might do.
