Silverado HD release dates?

I'm seeing conflicting info on when the 2015 models will be available. The 2014's are arriving now. We need to buy, but want to see what the 2015 will have to offer before we make a decision. Does anyone have a real clue? Thanks!

I was at a GMC dealer this past week and they had their first new 2014 1500 Sierra there. It was nice. The HD's come in 2015 model year, likely late 2014. You can find info about them online, but no real dates.

I wouldn't expect much change in the powertrain department. GM just did a big refesh on the chassis/drivetrain in 2011. I suspect the new trucks will primarily be cosmetic both inside and out. Imagine the 2014 1/2 tons with a more agressive hood. Were probably a year+ away before the new HDs hit dealers.

I'm NOT the dealer, just the customer. I figure he, whose family has been a GM dealer since back in the 1940's, knows what he tells his customers. Also, in todays world, there is no reason to follow the law, no one else does.

The 2015 will not be on any lot prior to January 1, 2014. EPA certification rules do not allow a model year 2015 to be sold during calendar year 2013. They can only be sold in model year less 1 calendar year.

Most likely next year. I myself would wait for the nice interior change in 2015. Rumor has it anyway :R
