Tail lites

Even through my tail lites are visible I would like to add some to camper for safety reasons. Need input on how to add them on.How do I wire them up.:h Headed to Alaska nx week

It sounds to me like his camper does not have any tail lights at all. If that's the case I would add some stop/tail/turn lights at the top as high as possible. LEDs of course. The ones Trail-Explorer linked to would be great & easy to wire as well.

Another option to look at.. if you do a little research, you can almost always find LED bulb replacements for the insandescent bulbs in your tail lights, which would make them quite a bit brighter.

Should all lights fail, some reflective tape or something else gives one
peace of mind.

I'm not sure what you're asking here. Are you looking for ways to add the lights or wiring information? You didn't state what camper you have.

If you're asking for ways to do it, you could:

1) wire them through the camper's umbilical cord if the cable has enough free pins available
2) if your truck has a tow package, you could make a harness to connect the new lights to the truck's trailer plug
3) if you didn't want to do any wiring, you could pick up a set of magnetic tow lights and attach some steel plates or brackets to the camper to attach the lights to and those lights would plug into the truck's trailer plug

I would buy a LED boat trailer light kit to mount to your camper. If you are not using the trailer plug on the truck, the 4-pin connection that comes with the kit will be all that you need to make it work. If you want a temporary solution, use magnets or Velcro to attach the lights.

Be sure to check with your local DMV-DOT on what light positions is allowed. All safety lights also have to DOT APPROVED and working types...

Finding all of this out in the beginning may save you some money when having to remove such items to pass required SAFETY INSPECTIONS.
