TC Bed options...

Trying to convince my wife on the benefits of the TC. She, as usual, being the practical one in the family, asks whether there are any TC’s the feature a walk around bed or something better than the climb up and over each other bed option. Is there?

Thank you

The wife's got you in a corner with that, no there's no camper with a walk-around bed unless it's a custom built one that uses the whole interior for it!
My wife goes straight to the 40' 5th wheels when we look at RVs but comes to her senses (or maybe comes to my senses haha) when I tell her that WE will have to wash that huge thing!

Other than the traditional queen beds that run inline with crew cab I did see a camper while shopping with two twin beds with a space down the middle.

I considered this as I'm a restless sleeper and my wife is a light sleeper but have not seen the same configuration since.

In a nutshell, no there is no such thing as a walk-around bed in a truck camper. For such a thing to work the camper would be 15' tall sitting on the truck. Way over the legal limit.

The best you can hope for is a "crawl-around" bed.

Larger campers are quite roomy up in the cabover, and most campers these days have the popular North/South bed so you can get in and out without crawling over anyone.

BTW, N/S beds are not limited to extended/crew cab pickups. You can put one on a regular cab pickup, it just might look a little goofy and make seeing the traffic signals a little difficult if you pull right up to them.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

I had an E/W bed arrangement because I have a regular cab. N/S beds are on TC's that are for extended cabs.

We have a North/South bed as well. We can easily go in out of the bed independently.

Many campers come with a North South bed so no crawling over each other. E/W beds are awful and we would not have one.

Added to N/S beds are the way most camper MFG's have adapted the raised roof to provide more head room in the bed area. You can actually sit up in bed and is much easier to crawl around.
