I bought a new US Made 81 VW diesel pickup. Sold it at 300k. 44mpg, loved it!
It could happen again.....with a little help from Ford.
VW is still '100 percent' investigating a pickup truck for the US
It seems with VW's recent partnership with Ford might make it possible for VW to make another pickup in the US.

That is because the US emissions are stricter than in Europe and elsewhere especially in the 2b (3/4 ton) truck class that the Titan Cummins is in. As I said in my initial post, the 416 hp / 660 lb ft that this VW puts out would probably be reduced if it came to the US to comply with US emissions just like the VM Motori 3.0L(Ecodiesel) is reduced for US markets.

VW is concentrating on electric now, I doubt we will see another diesel VW group product in NA.
Pity, I was hoping we might see the Euro Audi SQ5 here. 3.0L diesel mild hybrid. 347 HP 516 Lb Ft.
48V electrical system with secondary electric supercharger that kicks in at slow speed to eliminate any turbo lag.
Actually it is not. VW seems to be building everything.: Petrol, LPG, Electric and Diesel
The Toureg is brand new
They do but they are concentrating on electrics. Audi and Porsche have dropped out of LeMans prototype racing after dominating it for decades and are only supporting production based race cars and Formula E.
I
They are committing 80B Euros 91B USD to electrics and plan to stop developing diesels by 2026.
Risky maybe but that's the plan.

Ah well you live in the US, where you cannot get this. We can
And your point is? You want me to start naming trucks and SUV's that you guys don't get?
Although, last time I checked, you live in Australia and this will not be sold there either for at least another few years. Australia currently only gets the 254 hp 3.0L V6 TDI version and not this 416 hp 4.0L V8 TDI engine.

Touareg, too hard to pronounce.
There is always the Cummins in the Titan for those who want a diesel in that size range.
It is a 5 litre but does not put out anywhere near 430hp and 660lbs ft of torque
