towing with f250 gas

thinking of buying a solitude 320x 5th wheel, only have a ford f250 gas, 2015 pu, willthis do the job?

And as a person who has owned both. I can say the extra 15 hp and 400 tq make my 6.7 considerably quicker getting up to speed. Especially when towing.

The torque number merely indicates the engine operates at roughly half the speed, not that it makes more power; the overall output is similar. 800ft/lbs at 2500 is exactly the same as 400 ft/lbs at 5000 after the transmission has at it. Youtube it, the diesel aint that much quicker, not $8000 quicler for sure.

I'm a little late on this one, and a lot has already been said but just to get this back on track a little;

OP, If you're still around, unless your F250 is a reg cab 2WD the Solitude has too much pin weight. The discussion really ends right there. I would recommend a smaller trailer. Since you say your truck is a 2015 we have to assume you're not going to turn right around and buy a 350 series gas, or diesel. So yeah, take it from a 6.2 owner and get a better match for the truck. When merging, step on the gas, put blinker on, pick a spot to fit in and go for it. That is what they make brakes on cars for...they will move over or slow down just as they do for semis. You might get the one finger salute but I usually just smile and wave back.

It's kind of funny I've been towing 5th wheel RVs for 28 years and I have never worried about to 60 times and I don't plan on starting now.

While this test is a bit dated (Ford upped the HP &TQ for the 6.7 shortly after this was published) the 6.7 was still 3.5 seconds faster 0-60 than the 6.2.

Interesting. Comparing Ram gas (5.7L @ 383hp / 400tq) to the Ram diesel (Cummins @ 350hp / 650tq), each dragging a 10,000# trailer down the 1/4 mile.

The 5.7L Hemi took 23.3 seconds, the Cummins took 23.0 seconds.

Finally did a couple 0-60 runs with our rig and it was 18 seconds. That was counting from the time the tach hit 1500RPM. From just starting to roll it was probably closer to 17. Towing 9000lb.
