Dirtyoil, i think your conditions are similar to ours. I had a couple 1/2 ton trucks for salesmen that M55's went 90,000mi. On the heavier trucks 50,000 was the best we could get. Any other brand was 30,000 tops. Lots of gravel/dirt roads and high speeds are the norm here.

Thanks for the heads up. I almost went with Toyo for our F250 last year at the recommendation of the tire shop. Went with the Firestone TransForce instead at the recommendation of the good folks here. No regrets.

Dirtyoil, your the first person i have ever heard that had a problem with M55's. There are more of those on trucks around here than any other tire. I have worn out several sets myself without issue. Did you take them back to the tire dlr ?

Yes I did, dlr tried to tell me it was a weight thing... too much!? LOL, went to another dlr had them put in the paper work. Got a rebate from Toyo which I used to purchase General Grabbers. The roads I travel/work on, allow me to wear tires out faster then most. So, I get to "test" the different tires. I did like how the tread was wearing on the M55s, far better then BFG, better then Cooper SST, Dick Cepek FCII, and tenfold better then Dunlaughs. We'll see how the Generals work out. Thinking there might have been a bad batch of M55s that I received. Only 3 of the four showed the splitting/cracking. As you pointed out, lots of users, that was the reason I went to them in the first place. A lot of guys running M55s up here, reports of long lasting tread and weight capacity, good traction in both mud and snow/ice.

You can choose where they are made Japan, USA or China they have plants in all 3 countries and did you notice it's a voluntary recall, speaks a lot to me

you wouldn't have liked them anyways Fish... terrible tires just replaced Toyo M-55s on my Ram... the tread was wearing very well, but it was the sidewalls near where the tread meets the sidewall was cracking and splitting. The splitting looked like someone took a knife to them. Had less then 30,000km on them. Says a lot about a supposed "commercial" rated tire!
