TR - Eastern Sierra Fall Colors with nice photos

We took our annual trip up to the Eastern Sierra a couple of weeks ago and this year we timed it pretty well. We spent a night in the Alabama Hills west of Lone Pine, a night below the trailhead to Parker Lake west of Mono Lake, and a night in the Buttermilk area west of Bishop. We also drove up Tioga Pass to Yosemite and made our way around the June Lake Loop. Hope you like the pictures.

For me fall is really a bittersweet time of year - the vibrant color of golden leaves, the intense blue of the sky, and the latent quality of sunlight all combine for beautiful images, and your TR pics capture the feeling perfectly. Alas it also signals the end of another summer, with the camper ready to hibernate over the long, cold, dark months ahead.

sigh.... Well, thanks for sharing the trip. It looks like everyone including the dog, had a good time.

P.S. The Corvette is just ridiculous

I feel like I've been there before. I"m still amazed at how many different views of the same range of mountains can be had by different fotogs. Nice job. When we were there I saw the before and after of the big windstorm that came up and took 1/3 of the fall leaves with it.

Great pics of my favorite area of CA! Caught many a fish in Bishop Creek in the last 40 years.

I was in the June -> Bridgeport area the last part of September. Not much color then. You beat my low temp record of 19F. 🙂
