vent position in winter

Hello everyone,
Well, last weekend was our last camping trip till spring. Now the not fun part. Just one question. I always cover our tt with an adco cover. We live in the mnts of VA. I've always left the roof vents open to vent out any moisture. I have vent covers over them so rain or snow won't be a problem but is this the right way? Or does it matter? Sometimes I feel like Forrest Gump.

Closed, with a dehumidifying canister in the trailer. Otherwise, moisture builds up, especially during thaws.

I'm glad I don't leave mine open over the winter months. I had covers over mine on my last trailer and when it came spring camping time I discovered that one of the covers was in about 3000 little pieces. The trailer would have been full of snow and water if I had not closed the vents. The cover was only two years old.

If anyone wants one, I've got a new in the box 24'-27' RV cover I don't need--getting a permanent rv port.

Cracked open but not enough to allow a squirrel rooms to start knawing and find a nice winter bedroom.

I've got the Max Air vent cover and the way the louvers are angled I'm afraid a good hard blowing rain (50-60mph) would blow right in, so I keep my vent closed unless the fan is on.

All four of them.

Every cabinet door and drawer ajar and the fridge pinned open.
Also have a couple small containers of kitty litter and some damp traps placed in strategic areas.

I close mine tightly. I have found the moisture level goes up during winter storage with them open. I put a moisture capturing cannister inside the trailer during storage.

X2 on opening the fridge and freezer doors. I also open every cupboard and cabinet door during winter storage. That creates a lot fewer 'private' mouse residence possibilities.

Live in Roanoke. Cover mine with an Adco. Crack the vents about 2" all winter long. Not a problem in 5 years.

One other winter storage tip:
It's also a good idea to leave your refrigerator and freezer doors cracked open while in storage. Helps prevent any moisture or mold from building up.

We camp host at Natural Tunnel, so I guess we are quite a bit of ways further west than you. (Wise Co.)

We also crack the end window covers for the same reason. However, our cover does not cover those end windows. If the Adco envelopes the entire RV I don't see cracking anything being helpful but, probably, not harmful.

Same here...vents always open unless heat or A/C is on.

Yep I think I closed my vent once when I realized the heater was on and it was open. After that time I just left it open and forgot about it.
