What does BHDS stand for?

I've noticed that there seems to be an industry standard way of naming travel trailers. I've particularly noticed that I like BHDS trailers. I'v seen that BH means bunk house, but I am unsure what the DS stands for?

Also, if there anywhere that provides a list of all these different "models" and what they mean? It would be a lot easier for me to track down what I want if I knew. 🙂

Thanks,
Dave

Then that would be a 38BHDSDSSMNSBH.

Well, it's a good thing it's 38' long then...

My BHS has bunks (not a separate bunkhouse) with a slide, but opposite the dinette. So S either means single slide or non-dinette slide.

My previous "JB" trailer had bunks but no slide. Not sure what the J stood for.

As someone mentioned, there is no standard and no reliable rhyme nor reason.

Mine is a 27RLWS .... guess what it has?

RL - Rear Living areas - Check.
WS - Wardrobe Slide - Check
27 - the box is 30' long ... Hmmmm :h
It has 2 more slides - Dinette and Sofa/Fridge for a total of 3 slides, with the wardrobe slide being the smallest / least significant ... Hmmm :h

So you realy have a 32BHDSDSDS or a 32BHDS3. They will have to make the units bigger to fit the model number.

My guess on BHDS would be Bunk House Double Slide. I owned a Jayco Designer 5th Wheel that was 34RLQS and thhe RLQS was for Rear Living Quad Slide.

Single slide in the BH. Anyway, OP should assume the model names are meaningless.

Thanks APT I stand corrected. My mind is working on old data! Back in 2005 when I owned a BHDS floorplan, my thoughts may have been correct. But my thoughts are obviously wrong with today's floorplan. Outdoor kitchens were not as prevalent back in 2006.

The acronyms generally are easy to decipher, but every manufacturer just makes up their own scheme.

BH is generally bunkhouse
RL is usually rear living
DS is double slide, deep slide, or Dinette slide
FK is front Kitchen
RB can be rear bath, or rear bed
S at the end usually means it has at least 1 slide
RE is generally rear entertainment

My camper is a 260TRS. Which means Terrain Rear Slide. Outback Terrain names all their models TRS though, even if they don't have rear slides, so it can be misleading.

Also the numbers at the front are often meaningless. Mine, the 260TRS is 29ft toal, my brothers is a 26RES and is 33ft long.

I'll go with this one. Never say never.

I could be wrong, but I challenge someone to find a BHDS model that does not have a double slide in the bunkhouse.
