What isn't included with new trailer

Looking at buying a new TT and in order to budget for what I need to buy after the purchase, I would appreciate your input on what items you would think is included but isn't when you go to pick it up. Things like spare tire and tire rack, batteries, bed sheets, sewer hoses, tow hitch, etc.

Also, what items did you have the dealer include as part of the negotiation or for additional cost.

Basically what do I need that the dealer could or should provide whether or not it is included or extra cost.

Thanks

If they try to sell you Nitrogen in the Tires, tell them to take all the nitrogen out, you don't want any nitrogen in your tires. :W

Wow, Thanks to everyone for the list. I am sure you can get the dealer to add more if the trailer you are buying costs more. I have compiled all of the suggestions so far below. I am sure this list will help those buying new an used to help make sure they have the must have items so they will be ready to go. Here is the list. I added "Better Mattress" but am not sure if anyone has had the dealership include that. Maybe you can't access under-mattress storage with a good mattress on top.

Spare Tire
Power Tongue Jack
Sewer Hose
Water Hose
30 amp Power Cord Extension
30 amp Power Cord Adapters
Surge Protector
Transformer to Boost Campground Electric
New Batteries
Battery Box
Propane Tanks โ€“ Filled
Water Filter
Weight Distribution Hitch
Brake Controller
Towing Mirrors
Water Pump Bypass Kit โ€“ for winterizing
Electric Stabilizers
Slide Toppers
Vent Covers
Maxair Roof Vents
Water Filler
Black Tank Rinse Wand
Hitch Locks
Furnace Bug Screens
Leveling Blocks
Change Lights to LED if not included
Wheel Chocks
Generator
Better Mattress
Mattress Topper
Hard Start Kit for AC if using generator
Manual Socket Wrench for extending sliders using drill
Toilet Paper, Towel Holder, Soap Dish Holder
Refrigerator open stays for keeping open when not in use

I'm pretty sure you could spend $10k on camping accessories if you wanted to.

Most "free" accessories are junk.

Power jack, Maxair style roof vents would be good to have included with the sale.

It really all depends upon the trailer manufacturer and the dealer what's included with the original camper. If there is something you specifically want, ask up-front BEFORE signing the dotted line.

For example, if the camper you are looking at has a manual tongue jack, you might ask they include an electric tongue jack in the mix. If they can't include it in the selling price as is, then you need to request it be installed before you take delivery and simply pay the difference out of pocket for the service and part to install it.

Our last camper did not come with an electric tongue jack. We wanted one after 2 previous campers with manual jacks. We also wanted Max Air style vent covers over the vents. So we had them install the items before we took delivery. We signed the papers, and then they added the new parts. We paid a separate bill for the parts, everyone was happy. We also got a 10% discount on the day of purchase, so that was a big help also. BUT, they did give us a socket wrench thing with a long shaft, which is a tool used on the end of a drill to manually attach to the electric motors to move the slides in the event of electric failure. That was not included, but I asked specifically for the right tool and they went ahead and gave it to me. (no charge).

The items that came with the camper was the jack handle for the stabilizer jacks and installed jacks, 2 propane tanks, battery, spigot for outside kitchen sink, a 10 foot sewer hose with connections, a package containing the wall mounted toilet paper holder, bathroom towel holder, soap dish holder (I never installed any of these), the clips to hold the refrigerator door open to keep it from smelling when all power is off, and a boat load of manuals.

Pretty much, you don't many extras. You may, or may not get the starter pack (10 foot sewer hose with ends and clamps, in-line garden hose pressure regulator, maybe some extra lug nut covers for the wheels, and depending upon your camper, the bathroom soap dish and toilet paper holder that needs to be mounted by you.) You may also get a complementary sample of black tank chemicals (it it really will be only a "sample").

Basically, what you see is what you get though. To out-fit the camper, (bedding, dinner ware, cook ware, camping gear) is all on you as every one of us does it different, your specific needs will be just as different. When it comes to camping and RVing, no 2 of us are alike ... ever.

If your going to use a generator, you might think about a hard start kit for your AC

You might want to specify that they supply you with a NEW battery. I did not, and I was very surprised to find that the battery they supplied was not new and did not hold a charge as long as I expected.

Little nickel and dime stuff like this really bugs me.

In our case, a generator. Our toyhauler is set up for a built-in one, but it did not come included (not that we thought it should have been). In hindsight after researching more, we could have negotiated one in to be installed before picking it up. We have a hookup at Cummins so we ended up being able to get our Onan at cost, but it was still a pain to take it to get installed etc, when we just wanted to get to camping!

A few other things on the inside, that I wouldn't think would be included but you'll want right away:

-bath towels (incl hand towels)
-hand soap
-extra pillows
-warmer bedding (the bedding that comes with campers is really cheap and not warm)
-A thick mattress pad because the mattress is not comfy at all.

I could go on and on about stuff you'll need for the kitchen, but that's more subjective anyway. The others have the exterior stuff handled.

Unless you plan to make your own, you'll need wheel chocks of some sort and leveling blocks.

For sure.

And get them to change out the lights to LED if they are not already.

Our dealer also "threw in" a starter pack of Tri-Lynx leveling blocks. Otherwise pretty much agree with what everyone else has mentioned above. Enjoy!

Look up what comes with the unit (some come with spare tires and propane tanks, others don't, etc), then ask the dealer what they add (mine filled the propane and added a battery and box). There's no general answer to what you're asking, other than "it depends."

If you're looking for bargaining chips to try to get things thrown into the deal, I ended up buying (got a really good base deal, so didn't need to bargain for these):

Water hoses
Water filler
Pressure regulator/elbow
Sewer hose
Gloves for dumping tanks
Black tank wand
Towing mirrors
Brake controller
Electric 30/20 adapter
LED lighting
WD Hitch
Hitch locks
Electric jack
Furnace bug screens
