When windstorms attack... Need awning parts

Had a sudden windstorm come through this evening and caught the awning while it was out.... one arm is twisted up pretty good. Any idea where I can get just the arm? The motor is good, so I don't need that; I just need the arm.

This is on a 2010 Jayco that has an electric auto-adjustable awning. I've done some googling, but all I can find is the full awning.

Hoping to get this ordered and maybe fixed up and operating as soon as possible!

Thanks!

We were camping a couple of years ago in Myrtle Beach when a fierce thunderstorm blew in off the ocean. We had one of those pop up tents tied to the picnic table and awning out. The winds hit 80 mph. Many units around us had damage. The pop up tent of ours was destroyed in minutes, but the awning with the screw in anchors was holding, until the anchors pulled out of the ground. I scrambled quickly, ignoring the lightning and got the awning in with minor damage to one arm. I no longer trust having the awning strapped down. It is only out when we are sitting under it.

The last time we were out, we also saw tie-down straps on awnings, especially on the rigs of those more permanently camped. I would expect the straps to keep the awning more stable in moderate winds, but there would be that much more to disconnect if the wind picked up to a high level.

I noticed several RV's this weekend had two tie-down straps for their automatic awnings. How effective are these?

The wind bent one of our awning arms, and we had to buy the entire left side mechanism. We couldn't find a source for the individual part.

Make / model / year of trailer is irrelevant ... make / model # / production # of your particular awning is what you need in order to source the correct replacement parts.

Looks like PPL has the best prices... gotta buy both arms, but that's probably for the best. I'll keep the old ones for random parts that I may need down the road.

Had my awning arms busted by a guest of wind, manual awning though but got all the parts on dyers. Mine is black and they only had white and gray but after spray paint looks like it never broke.

Dyers looks to be the cheapest that I've found thus far. I was hoping to just get the arm, but it looks like the motor and arm is all one assembly and must be purchased together for ~$350.

Has anyone ever replaced just one arm? It was dark when I got out there, so I didn't really get to take a good look at how it all went together.

BTW, if you have a Dometic 9100, do you know how to retract the awning if the motor fails ? You need to have the awning strap to insert in the awning channel. There is a procedure to follow by removing the right end cap.

yes, if you cant find it on ebay try this......http://www.dyersonline.com/hardware/replacement-awning-parts-accessories.html

Dyers RV is a good spot. I got my replacement awning parts there. They were helpful and reasonably priced. I got free shipping too.
