...carry 4 or 5 gallons of gasoline in a Berg long run fuel tank (boat gas tank) in the basement of a TC? In a plastic tub? With an old style closable vent on the tank cap?
I haven't done it yet, but I'm tempted if it is required.
Unfortunately I have a A/C on my Bigfoot that requires 2 Honda 2000 gens to run. Why Bigfoot, why?
I don't mind giving away $10 worth of gas rather than driving home 800 miles with the gas in the basement.
Your opinions welcomed....

What's the temperature range? I've seen them blow up like a balloon when the valve is closed while cool and then it heats up later in the day.

Much better to use an exterior mounting system.

Change out the ac to one that only requires one Honda and sell the extra ac and extra Honda on Craig's List. Problem solved.

Iโ€™ve done it with a trailer-hitch-mounted carrying rack on the back, behind the truck and below the camper. If your Hondaโ€™s donโ€™t fit in your generator compartment, put the gas cans there.

Years ago I bought gas cans in Canada. Even they cost like $7 a piece, they are much stronger than what you can buy in US and have gargling nozzle instead of spring loaded valves, where spring flies away on 2nd use.
I do carry 2 of those in empty generator compartment.
For short trip I would not hesitate to put it behind driver seat, but they do smell a bit.
Boat tanks are not any stronger and than they are not design for pouring fuel out.
Than you can always buy military style metal gas cans.

I carry three 2.5 gallon plastic fuel cans in the vented compartment originally designed for an onboad genset. 8 years no issues no fumes to fuel my Honda 2000

Just a idea, could you mount a fuel tank between the frame of the truck. Or maybe some kind of a bracket that would hold a small fuel can. I would worry about gas fumes in the basement of my TC.

Sounds like a bomb, so no I wouldnโ€™t put several gallons of gasoline under my TC.
