So this past weekend were finally able to take our new to us HTT out for our maiden voyage. We had an amazing time! We took it to buffalo springs lake in Lubbock, Tx which is only about 2 hours from where we live. It is a perfect weekend destination for us. The crazy thing is that we have lived here for 8+ years and never knew there was a lake that close. We are already planning a few more weekends there. A few little grimlins showed up that we didn't know about. They were all little stuff with the exception being that the pilot light igniter on the hot water tank doesn't work. Other than that we had a great first outing in our HTT. Just thought I would share our excitement with everyone

We ended up getting the T fitting for our 20# tank, and then buying the hose that will go back to the shelf that my DH built (where the RVQ used to go). It works great! Thanks for all the advise!!!

I saw an ad in a CW flyer just today with a nice looking propane grill with low pressure fittings. It was a bit pricey and you had to buy the rack and other options separately, but looked like it might work for many. We use the RVQ grill that come standard with our Rockwood and love it...had the same one for our ROO. Beats hauling around an extra grill.

what kind of hybrid do you have, that didn't come with a stove?

all hybrids i know of, since they first came out in 1998, all had stoves standard. ovens are optional though.

unless a previous owner took it out.

I dont have a stove that came with camper so we take a small one with us. I use my set up for my little buddy heater. 10' of hose, filter, regulator and my 20# tank. I may tap into the main lines so I dont have to bring a extra 20#. My luck I will forget it sometime. Any sports store, Dicks, Gander Mountain etc. should have the setup you need.
My wife and I had words...I didn't get to use mine

Depending on what camp stove you have, something like this would work. That way you could run a "y" off of the tank before the regulator and then take the high pressure to your camp stove. Or just take a second bottle for the stove. Even carrying a second bottle would be way cheaper than buying the small green bottles.

arkantex, isn't there a problem between something like low capacity gas and high capacity or something. Some sort of regulator? I need to figure this out because I would love to hook our stove up to the main gas.

They make adapters that you can buy to attach your camp stove to a full sized bottle. They even carry them at our local walmart in the camping section. Those little bottles are pretty expensive.

Wavesprite it does hook into the tanks on the camper. There is a little hose that has quick connect fitting on the end of it that comes off the stove and connects in front of the wheel well. The quick connect fitting on the camper has a valve behind it for when it is not in use. We did all of our cooking on it to help keep the heat out of the camper.

Brirene other than using our I phones to take pics, the whole family went completely unplugged this weekend. No video games no laptops no tv. It was great!

Congrats on your first trip! I'm jealous of your outdoor stove. Is it hooked to the camper propane? We had one with our last popup, but with our hybrid we just had the RVQ (which we sold). My husband made a shelf for me that sits where yours is, but I put my portable stove (with small bottle) on it. In hindsight, I wish I had kept the one from the popup when we sold it!

That looks great! Nice unit. Best thing is the little one involved in something other than video games or tv. THATS what its all about.

Texas is full of Lakes.... Big and Small

Glad you had fun in your new adventures...

We had a great time at a few visits to Bonham State Park camping on a small Lake when visiting Momabear's mother buried at a cemetery at GOBER, TX...

When you venture out some be sure to go to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Rufuge at Medicine Park OKLA (just north of Lawton). Another great place with four or five lakes inside the boundaries... Camp Doris in the camp ground there.
