Best time to make it through Washinton DC?

We will be heading for NC in A couple weeks. Been A while since running so on I95. What would suggestions be for the best time to get through DC? Will be traveling on A Saturday AM. leaveing from NJ.

It's always a gamble around there. I would choose a Sunday southbound commute if given the chance. Saturday mornings are terrible going south in the summer due to a lot of beach traffic.

Honestly, early Sunday morning. Have never had an issue then in many trips. Per MapQuest you are about 3-3 1/2 hours away. Best bet is to hit the beltway NLT 7-8:00 a.m. if possible. Tie up generally starts just south of the beltway in VA so you want to get through there as early as possible.
