I-10 Through Phoenix

We are heading to Cottonwood AZ from Casa Grande and are taking I-10 through Phoenix and I was wondering if there is any time from 8am -12pm that is better. We have driven there with just the truck and the traffic was extremely heavy, so I'm trying to pick the best time to avoid as much traffic as I can. Thanks Michael

Sounds like good info.

Enjoy Cottonwood, the weather is gorgeous this time of year. It's 79 degrees, sunny and clear here!

Yup, I also agree with them. That is what we do - leave the Tucson area around 8ish.

I agree with Jim. When we have to go through Phoenix, especially on a weekday, we leave Tucson around 8 which puts in downtown Phoenix a little after 10. Takes about 30- 45 minutes to get across/through the downtown area. :C

You might have better luck going around the east side on AZ 101 down to around Chandler.

You can also get traffic reports on the move by dialing 511. If your passenger can access the internet through their smart phone or other device while you're under way, you can go to az511.gov. It will give you a map with problem areas identified.
