We stopped at South Of The Border because it was a classic Americana type of thing that we felt we were supposed to. My daughter (and, who am I kidding- so did I) enjoyed the Reptile House there. Lunch, however, wasn't great at their Mexican restaurant.
Other than that, same as tegu69 - rest areas for lunches. We'll hit a Flying J/Pilot with a Denny's for breakfast. Not great, but an expected quality- plus they had easy parking with the big rigs.
We stayed at a campground named
Whispering Pines on our way back for a night. Great spot- pull through, very level and full hookups.
