Stockton to Bakersfield(Arvin)..... 99 or I5
Making this trip in moho, wondering what kind of shape hyways are in??

I took I-5, seems was a little better than last time, cept Sac>Stockton....sections south of Santa Nella to Bakerfield are terrible in right lane. May try 99 next year if I have to be in CA.

1 5 for sure !! But beware drivers passing you going 80 90 mph

99 has had a lot of work done and is fine.

neither 99 or I5 are good drives or good roadways. if just getting from point A to B is the goal, I would use the 5. Driving a big RV in the right lanes of 99 is very frustrating with all the frequent on/off exit/entrance traffic constantly cutting you off.

I5 is quicker a lot of in and out traffic on 99. I5 is boring! Both are bad roads, so take a pick.

I would take I-5. Less traffic on an off all the time.

Lord if 99 has improved, hate to see what it was before. Just used both I5 and 99. Both are ruff. Hit some spots on both rattled my teeth. Would recommend I-5, just a little less ruff.

I5 is torn up in Stockton, but there is construction on 99 too. I normally take 99 down the valley simply because 5 is such a boring drive.
