We stayed at Zion river resort Virgin Utah it too was nice

Stayed at both this April

We were at both a couple weeks ago. Zion River was nice, paved interior roads, grass at the sites --Ruby's was very dusty , we were in the back section- no trees or vegetation. But we were ok with that and it's proximity to the park.

1. We stayed at Cheyenne Mtn. SP in Colorado Springs and loved it. The views were fantastic.
2. We stayed in Watchman campground in Zion on an electric spot. There was plenty of room for our 35' Class A towing. On another occasion we stayed in Sand Hollow SP in Hurricane, UT. It was a 20 minute drive to Zion but we loved it here. We rented an ATV in town for the day and drove all over the Sand dunes at the State Park. We have fond memories of this park.
3. We stayed at a KOA in Cannonville to see Bryce but would NOT go back again. Next time we would stay at Ruby's.
4. We stayed at Mesa Verde RV Resort in Mancos, CO and were very happy with our spot.
NOTE: After considering a spot half way between Bryce and Zion, we decided to treat it like two separate destinations. I am glad we did. There is too much to see to spend
time driving back and forth.

Less than 15 minutes from Mesa Verde is Cortez Mesa Verde KOA. Super nice people and park. If you are traveling with a dog it has one of the biggest and nicest pet areas I have seen.
A great restaurant in Cortez is Pepperhead Restaurant.

For Colorado Springs, there's a wide variety of parks to choose from, really depends on what your interests/needs are, besides electricity.

As others have indicated, Cheyenne Mountain SP is tops on most lists, but it's also very difficult to get reservations there. Mueller is another good SP, is further up in the mountains away from the city itself. There's some good parks on the west side of the Springs, but don't overlook Manitou Springs. While I didn't stay there, I stopped by a park in Manitou to check it out for future trips, it's the Pikes Peak RV Park; it gets very good reviews and when I was there, the folks were very pleasant and let me check out the park, which was very nice and clean, and close to amenities of Manitou, which is a really interesting place to visit. H E R E is a link to rvparkreviews for Manitou.

I stayed out east in Falcon, as I had a need to be on the northeast side of the city and didn't want to fight the Springs traffic along I-25. I stayed at the Falcon Meadows CG, and met my needs. It's an old park, has been around since 1959, the folks that run it are family members from the founders of the park. It's laid out weird, but had a combo of FHU and water/electric only sites. Very convenient to the NE side of the city and also easy to get to downtown Colorado Springs.

Garden of the Gods RV Resort in Old Colorado City, Colorado Springs KOA in Fountain, Cheyenne Mountain State Park are all close to the city and nice parks.

we were just in Colorado in june. great weather. I've seen that the springs had some snow and rain which caused some flash floods last week.

anyway, we stayed at Mueller state park rather than Cheyenne. it is farther from the attractions but it has nice shaded sites whereas at Cheyenne mtn there is no shade.

went to mesa verde a few years ago and stayed right at the campground there (morefield?). nothing fancy but it had electric and it was right there.

didn't go to Utah.

Good suggestions above. We will leave shortly and again be at Rubys and Mesa Verde. Love Cheyenne Mtn S P !

DO NOT recommend the place in Virgin. PM me if you have questions. Ethics issues.

We stayed at the KOA in Panguitch, UT that put us about half-way between Bryce stayed and Zion. After meandering through Nevada and Arizona made our way to Mesa Verde and spent several nights at the Mesa Verde RV resort too.

Ditto above. For Colorado Springs Mountain Dale is southwest of Colo Spgs about 12 miles off a 2 lane county road. Very nice park with large sites and lots of trees.
