We are thinking about spending the summer near Disney World, and purchase annual passes. Although we love Fort Wilderness, we could not afford to spend two months there. Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice RV park near the resort?

When we are in the Orlando area, we always stay at Theme World RV Resort http://themeworldrv.com/ - great owners, reasonable prices and beautiful park.

Moss Park in Orlando is pretty nice, although I was only there for 2 days in March. Reasonably priced at $23.00 night, plus 25% discount for Senior Citizen (55 + up) & military. It's a county park, so there might be occupancy limits, but depending on your preferences it might work for some part of your stay.

Another vote for Tropical Palms. Close as you can get outside of FW.

Check the Ocoee/Winter Garden area. Straight shot down the Western Beltway to WDW.

Wekiwa-Springs state park 20-30 minutes from Seaworld/Disney. Nice park with lots to do. One of the loops has full hookups.

Last summer we alternated between Thousand Trails in Clermont for 2 weeks and then moved to Lake Magic (or we could have gone to Sherwood Forest) for 1 week.

Since we were already Thousand Trails members, the weeks at TT Clermont were "$0" (we have yearly dues, but make good use all year long). And then the weeks at Lake Magic were $135/week. We only stayed for about 5 weeks, but only spent $135 during that time.

We spend a few days each Feb visiting friends at Orange Grove CG on Old Vineland Rd in Kissimmee. I would describe the place as FHU, clean, no frills, excellent bath houses, friendly people and reasonably priced.

There is also Sherwood Forest campground in Kissimmee. Quite handy to Disney.

A lot of people like Tropical Palms, we are Thousand Trails members so we use the one near Clermont.
