Any recommendations for a good spot to rv with the 9-13 year olds in upstate new york. Going to do some shopping at waterloo outlets while we're there. Would prefer something with a beach kids love the water.

Thanks!

be aware those finger lakes are cold to swim in. they are deep, and don't warm up until late august. Having said that, Sampson state park, and Cayuga state park are both fairly close to Waterloo outlet, and you will pass a few wineries and distilleries on the way. Actually a walk up Taughannock's Gorge Is Fantastic and is worth staying at taughannock state park. If you decide on Sampson, bring the bikes the kids can ride forever. All the state parks in the area are 30 amp, water available and a dump station, no full hook ups.

Stick with Sampson State Park. Beach for the kids, winery tours for the adults. You can also head south from there to Watkins Glen state park.

Come up and visit Ausable Chasm in the NY Adirondacks where our seasonal site is. There's lots to do for the kids. The campground has some 50-amp sites and wifi. From here you can take the ferry to Burlington (Vt) for a day trip and visit there also. The Burlington city beach is nice and so is the Ausable Point state park beach just a couple miles from Ausable Chasm.

Lake George is nowhere near Waterloo. Sampson State Park is a good choice

Just FYI; Lake George is hell and gone from Waterloo. I have read some good things about Waterloo Harbor. http://www.waterlooharbor.com/

Any interest in an amusement park? If so then check out Darien Lake. That's close to the outlets and the RV park is attached to the amusement park so it's super convenient to go back and forth ... they have added some new rides and water park attractions and if the weather is warm that might be a fun stop ... the RV park itself isn't anything special but it's so nice to be able to go back and forth to the camper during the day ....
Also, not sure which direction you want to go in but there's a KOA Association Island in the 1000 Islands area - no beach swimming there but a pool and great boating and Brennan Beach is closer to Syracuse and that's on the water ...

We were going to Lake George because of the many positive reviews and positive recommendations from other rvers. Alas discovered we can't do it this summer for personal reasons in the family.:( We are definitely going to Lake George next summer since there's so much to do at the resort and surrounding area. :B
