Looking for White Christmas RV parks

We are looking for an RV park open over Christmas that would have a high likelihood of snow. Anywhere in the north or eastern half of the country could be a possibility. I'm having a hard time finding places that are actually open. Ideally, would love if cabins were nearby for non-RVing family to rent. Please share about any wintry campground or resorts you've visited.

Bull of being -40 at Lake Gogebic in Michigan's Upper Peninsula at Christmas time.

Average temp in Gogebic County in December is 24.2 degrees for the high and 9.1 for the low at night. January is the coldest month and the high is 20.3 with the low being 2.9 Degrees. Look it up!

We live in West Michigan and have for 77+ years and have gone up to the U.P. so many times in mid winter (Tahquamenon Falls, Drummond Island, and various other locations) both by vehicle and with one of our RV's for several days and nights at a time and it's not even cold feeling. You dress for the weather no matter where you are at on the Planet Earth!

BTW, there are CG's open in the winter up there and yes the electric is on too. Toilet facilities open but not showers at many or dump stations at most locations. Simply sponge bathe in your RV if no showers open, works fine! We certainly had lots of fun at Tahquamenon Falls CG in Jan and Feb every time and always were lots of other RV'ers there too. All is kept plowed. Gobs of snowmobilers, skiers, and snowshoeing enthusiasts too. Restaurants are open and so are motels and cabins as the U.P. is a beautiful winter wonderland.

Even been to Copper Harbor (Northern tip of the U.P.) and all around Lake Superior going thru Ontario Canada in the deep winter and never got cold.
A superb CC LB 4X4, GM HD Diesel, airbags, Rancho's, lots more
Lance Legend TC 11' 4", loaded including 3400 PP generator and my deluxe 2' X 7' rear porch
29 ft Carriage Carri-lite 5'er - a specially built gem
A like new '07 Sunline Solaris 26' TT

What's the Christmas time average temp in the UP ? My BiL has a house on Lake Gogebic and right after Christmas when they go to snowmobile it's as low as 40 below. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Average high in Paradise that time of year is 23ยฐ, low 7ยฐ. There are always extremes however, could be much hotter or much colder than the average. Minus 40ยฐ would be rare even in January/February (wind chill is a different story however). Snow however is pretty typical from end of October thru early April; especially anywhere near the lake. Yoopers usually expect it to snow from Thanksgiving to Mother's day.

Is your RV well suited to sub-freezing operation? Are you comfortable driving it over snowy roads? Those may seem like obvious questions, but you'd be surprised how many skiiers come up to Vermont from warmer areas and seem absoltuely taken aback to discover that the snow falls on roads as well as on ski trails.

Last I checked, there were something like four campgrounds total in Vermont open all year, at least one or two of which were only open for seasonal campers (vs. transients). Snow around Christmas is common but not absolutely guaranteed. More generally, in snowy areas, hookups may be limited (in particular, no water available at sites).

I hit the road in the middle of winter to go to Florida not realizing CG's in the Midwest closed Sept 1. :S

What was my saving grace was I did find that almost all the CG's alongside the interstates are open in winter BUT they do all shut the water off Sept 1. They do leave the water on in the shower buildings where there is water for showers, laundry etc. I managed to find CG's along my whole way down south, no water but a place to park.

So when you are looking them up it might say water shut off Sept 1 but they will still be open. I just drove until I saw a CG off the interstate and just pulled in. No problem.

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
