Niagara Falls

Planning a trip to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Does this trip warrant a week's stay or will 3 or 4 days do and then move on? Thanks for the help.

We would want at least 4 days. Fort Niagra, Maid of the Mist, Niagra on the Lake for a ride, casino, cable car, eating at the top of a restaurant over looking the falls, Clifton hills. walking the gorge...

We did it in 4 nights and could have done another night or two. It was a lot of fun. I'd recommend your 4 day option. The CA side has the best views but the NY side has the great state park (worth a day). I also was very happy I decided to get some original Buffalo Wings at Anchor Bar (about 30 min drive from the Falls).

Have to agree with some others, 4 days should make for a good experience there.

Do you like to bicycle or hike? If so, there are a lot of nice trails in the area.

2 to 3 days should do Niagara, but there are other things to do close. Suggestions: Drive up to Fort Niagara, take a ride on the Erie Canal, visit a winery or 2 in the area. We did all that last fall and really enjoyed.

4 days should be good. If your interested in history, you may need more time. Lots of historical sites from the War of 1812 on the Niagara Frontier. Village of Niagara-on-the-Lake Olde shoppes) is also worth the short drive to the north end of the Niagara River.

Take at least two days to see the sights then you won't be rushed. There are a number of attractions that have package deals along with transportation. See:Info
Seeing the falls by day and by night, the shops and museums on Clifton Hill above the falls, Maid of the Mist, Butterfly house, the Whirlpool, etc., etc.

The Welland Canal, as mentioned above, is very interesting to visit.

Be sure to have your passports or passport cards with you.

4 days is about right

In 1995, we took a vacation back east spent just one day in the immediate area of the falls. In the 1950's we lived close by and visited for just a day each time. You may also want to visit the locks if you have never seen such an engineering accomplishment. (The locks allow ships to by pass the falls.)
