As others have mentioned, rvparkreviews.com is a great resource. CGs are listed by city within the state. There's a wealth of them in Nebraska, not quite so many in Iowa. Over the years, on many trips across the plains, we have been to the following and found them at least acceptable for an overnight, if not enjoyable. (Asterisks are for the ones we especially liked.) Bear in mind that we like state parks, large sites, and some amount of privacy, and that we don't necessarily need or want FHUs.

*Des Moines West KOA, Adel IA
*Ft. Kearney St Rec Area, Kearny NE
*Kellogg RV Park, Kellogg IA (funky little place but we like it - nice little mom & pop burger joint, gas station & RV park)
*Grand Island KOA, Doniphan NE - good pizza, delivered to your site
*Mormon Island SRA, Grand Island/Doniphan NE - note, large rigs may have a bit of trouble fitting in many sites here
Newton KOA, Newton IA
Camp-a-Way, Lincoln NE
*Holiday RV Park, North Platte NE (nice & shady)
*Prairie Oasis RV Park, Henderson NE
Kearney RV Park, Kearney NE
**Robidoux RV Park, Gering NE (off US 26 - the "scenic" route alternative to I-80 west of Ogallala NE)

In addition to the prior recommendations, here's a few more options:

Outside of Des Moines IA there's the Des Moines West KOA in Adel. It's off the Interstate, not so much highway noise. Nice park, some of the sites were a little tight, but there were some others that were a bit more spread out. Reasonable rates.

+1 on the Omaha West KOA in Gretna. It's a nice park.

There's also the Pine Grove RV Park and CG in Greenwood, NE, not far west of Omaha. It's not bad, sites were mostly level gravel and grassy mix. BUT...lots of traffic noise from I-80, since it's very close. Rates were very reasonable ~$30 for full hookups.

Mormon Island SRA in Doniphan (outside of Kearney NE) is also nice for what it is...state park with electric only. Nice setting, nice sites and nice price...around $20 as I recall.

Only have had experience with two, and that was 8 years ago.

1) Omaha West KOA in Mt. Gretna, NE. Nice place, well kept, good management but as with most KOA's the sites were on the small side.

2) Sleepy Hollow CG near the Amana Colonies. Beautiful setting, clean, and easy to get to & from.

On our way west a couple of weeks back we stayed at the Grand Island Nebraska KOA and Country View Campground in Ogalalla Nebraska. Paid $32.60 for FHU pull thru sites at both.

In Iowa, a ways off the highway, but plenty of room for big rigs Amana RV Park

In Nebraska, a no frills Passport America park right off the highway, good for an overnight stop, longer sites at the south end Sunny Meadows
