RV Parks in Kansas City and St Louis recommendations

We'll be traveling to KC and STL this Spring to catch some baseball games and we're looking for some recommendations of places to stay (or not to stay). We'll be staying about 4 days in each place.

X2... very nice park just off of I-70. We stayed there one night in June while on a two week trip to Yellowstone. One of the nicer RV parks we experienced the whole trip. This appears to be a very nice area of metro St. Louis; good restaurants and shopping nearby too.

We went to a game over the summer and parked for free at the Casino Queen. The free shuttle is nice and easy. The Casino has a nice buffet too.

There is also Sundemeier RV Park in St. Charles, MO. St. Charles is a cool place to visit all on its own.

Babler SP is nice and wooded it is not that far from the city.

I believe the Red Barn RV park in Edwardsville, IL opens for the season on April 1st.

Pere Marquette SP in Grafton, IL is about an hour away. Nice little river town. There is always something going on there. Wineries, flea market, bands, etc. If you have time take a drive from Mo on Hwy 94 to Grafton Ferry Road. Ride the ferry across, visit the SP. Take a drive up the bluff above the Lodge and down the back way to Rt 100. Go back via Rt 100 towards Alton, IL. You get a great view of the Bluffs on one side and the river on the other side of the road.

We stay at Babler State Park when visiting the city. It's huge, manicured lawns, hiking trails, excellent bike riding.

We've stayed at the Casino Queen, directly across the river from the Arch, more times than I can count. While you DEFINITELY don't want to be wandering around East St. Louis, if you come into St. Louis, you can cross the Mississippi on the Eads Bridge (the one just to the north of the Arch). At the end of the bridge, make two quick lefts and you're there. Clean, excellent security, a little bit of train noise. As someone else mentioned, security will give you a lift to the MetroLink station at the casino, and it will drop you off right across the street from the third base entrance to the stadium.

If you have a toad and don't mind staying out a little distance consider Red Barn Rendezvous at Exit 23 on I-55 near Edwardsville, IL. On the Missouri side, the City of St. Peters has a very good park at exit 2 on Highway 370, just north and west of St. Charles. Babler State Park and the Eureka KOA are also good options that others have mentioned.

As for the St. Louis RV Park on North Jefferson, you couldn't pay me to stay there.

I second this park ad well, have stayed there three different times while in the area and its perfect for getting to the stadium and surrounding area.

Stayed at the Casino Queen this summer and took the free on call shuttle to the Metro Link StationIMHO the only way to go. It is a 4 minute ride from Casino Queen to Main Entrance to the stadium and a half mile walk. Would recommend visiting Forest Park while there also

Same with the Jellystone in Lawrence. Only a niche campground I wouldn't stay there again. Between 2 major highways, train tracks, airport and there's a biker bar around the corner! Don't plan on sleeping!

worlds of Fun Campground in Kansas City is close to the ballpark, nice modern campground. If you want to park free with no hookups, the Station Casino, not far from W.O.F. CG. While in K.C. Try some of our BBQ at Gates, or Arthur Bryants. If you like Chili, Dixons Chili.

casino queen put you in easy access to the city Babler is really nice state park about 30 min from the city. That rv park on Jefferson I would not recommend Kc I would stay at worlds of fun rv but its a drive to ballgame

we stayed at the KOA West in Erueka MO. About 25 miles from the stadium.
In Kansas City, check Jackson County Parks. They have 3 campgrounds.

I don't know about KC, but you will want to stay at the KOA in Pacific, MO about 36 miles from the stadium in STL. Do not stay at Jellystone Park, the spots are not even close to level and the price, while cheaper than the KOA, are over priced for what you will be getting. There is a park across the river but it is not in a very nice place--think East STL.

If you can maneuver in tight spots, you might be able to spend 4 nights at the casino and use the MetroLink rail system to get you across the river and drop you very close to the stadium.

There is one RV park on North Jefferson in STL, but that puts you right in the middle of the slums, not very desirable location, but the park itself gets some high marks in the GS RV Travel Guide & Campground Directory.

When we go to STL we always stay at the KOA, they are friendly and very helpful and the park is clean and well kept up. PM me if you have other questions.
