Staying 2 months nov & dec at Rincon West RV park in Tucson Az. Taking the southern route from n.e.ohio. Any advice. Thanks

Then if you have time may I recommend you think about parking ON the beach on the Bolivar peninsula near Galveston for a few days. By on the beach I mean within 25 feet of the water.
I have done it with my Southwind a couple of times. All that is needed is a $10.00 permit good for one calender year.

As you do in most parks here in Tucson what with the airport and D M Air Force Base. And many parks are closer to them.

Things to see in Tucson area:

First get a Tucson Attractions Passport there are a number of places that are well worth visiting with the discount, not so much at full price.

Such as Biosphere 2 and Old Tucson

Kitt Peak

Desert Museum

Colossal Cave

Saguaro National Park East & West

Sabino Canyon

Tucson Botanical Garden

Pima Air & Space Museum

Franklin Museum off the beaten track and a good visit for a car guy

H F Coors seconds sale first Saturday of month.

Tucson Mountain Park nearby with easy hiking trails.

If you are into air planes and space stuff, then don't miss the Pima Air & Space Museum. Here is a LINK to their web site. They are the largest, privately sponsored, air museum.

Tucson - trust me, there is much more to Tucson than eating; you can do that anyplace you go. Some mentioned here are good - but, as said, do not miss Beyond Bread. And I have a other thoughts I would share if you are interested (PM or email).

Desert Museum is not just an eating place though. You will not want to miss the whole place. We have not eaten there.

Taco Grio try the one on N Grande

Cushing Street for that nice dinner on a special day, great Sunday brunch, good jazz

Los Portales

Perfecto's family place, good food, no atmosphere, locals

La Estrella bakery just south of BK

Fred's Arena out in the middle of nowhere, good steaks and good pizza

Nimbus good beer, good burgers

Tiny's looks like a biker bar, friendly and great burgers

Silver Saddle Steakhouse neighborhood a bit iffy, but a local favorite.

If you have time try to route yourself via the Natchez Trace starting in Nashville, Tn. Nice free National Park Service Campgrounds along the way. No services but they are very nice and the price is right. After Natchez go through Louisiana via 165 and try to spend a day or 2 at one of the CG in the Kisatchie national Forest. This will take you to I10 near Kinder Louisiana.
It would be helpful if we knew what kind of rig you have. There are opportunities for parking on a beach etc that I do not put in here because I have no idea what size your setup is. It makes a difference in some CG's

Bring sunscreen. But it will not be HOT as such then -- highs upper 60's and lows in the 40's.

Enjoy Tucson - we have lived just south of Tucson for over 11 years and love it.
