Generator - Low cost - quiet - 3000w?

Going off the grid this weekend. Running fridge off propane. Don't need much else. 12v for lights is fine. However - it may hit 93 a few days. So got me to thinking of generators. From reading I think I can get away with running a 2500w-3000w min to power my ac only - as needed. Of course there are lots to choose from. I'd like it to be quite as possible for a good price. Also would like to be able to pick one up at the store. No time for shipping. Recommendations? I'm hoping to stay in $250.00-$300.00 price range?

Not suitable in an enclosed compartment
It will overheat
Built in generators have specially designed fresh air intake and hot air out
Stick your hand under a running Onan and feel the warm air from the engine blower

To use a portable while driving, a rear mount carrier mount might work and give you the ! Open space and air flow, if air turbulence is not to bad
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Not sure if you can buy them down there but check out the 3500 inverter genset from new holland. I have a yamaha and it is junk. Buddies use the hondas and they don't compare to the new holland sound wise. It is cheaper and if you hook to a battery you can use a remote to start it.

This is a bit tricky because a lot of "portable" generators aren't made to mount permanently AND won't be equipped to use a shared fuel source.

It would be best to put in a unit designed for that size of RV but that would be rather expensive. It will help the resale value a bit though.

By now I am sure the OP is don'w with his boondocking trip (if he went) and if a bear was in the area, I'm sure they left after hearing a construction generator running ๐Ÿ˜‰

In any case, renting to try out was a very good suggestion. You can do a conversion to the Champion to use an external boat fuel tank and a quick disconnect to hook it up, so long running time is not an issue (other than checking the oil)

If I switch over to a travel trailer, this will be the route I take.

Its actually amazing what people ask for sometimes.

Why does the PRESENT generator not qualify for "on road use" ??

I have a 36' motor home. I would like to replace generator for on road use. ac mainly concern. I'm thinking 4000 watt concern about heat as well as noise, in a confined area, my thinking is ok but what happens if it was used when parked.

Check out the champion 3400 with electric start for $999. Very close to Honda sound level. I own a Honda eu2000, very good genny, but if I needed one to run the A/C, I'd go champion. They've got a very big following

Camping world is running a sale on the Champion 3500 dual fuel and electric start right now for 1069.00 if I could sell my 2 hondas that is what I would be buying. This is just a bit over your budget though.

All kidding aside folks, the Champion line is hard to beat for value, and that is coming from a Honda owner.

This is what you need but you're going to have to double you budget and then some. The Champion 3100 runs my AC no problem and is quite.
