Alot of the newer vehicles the 3rd brake light flashes a number of times before going solid red. Superbright LEDs has flashing LEDs, but if behind a red lens you should buy a red LED

About 10 years or so ago I got stop light bulbs that when you stepped on the brake they flashed slow and then faster until full power. It was a plug in (had a board with them). I never again have found them. When I sold the rig I took them out and gave to a friend and he used them for years with no trouble. The best stop lights that I have ever seen. Must of had a least twice the output of a normal bulb.
I know this is not the answer to your question but just a area to look into and maybe you can find them and if so please share the info.

I would change them out to LED fixtures. The manufacturer of the taillights on my roo also made an LED version. I basically swapped out the guts.
