Need design for portable outdoor TV stand/tripod

My RV's TV mounts on a Jensen mount like this:

The TV (with mount) lifts up and out of the V-shaped bracket, which is attached to the wall. I have another V-bracket, and want to make a simple but sturdy folding or knock-down stand in order to use the TV out in our lounging tent. It's a small lightweight. TV, 22 or 24 inches, I can't recall which.

Storage space is at a premium in our small Class C, so it has to fold or knock down. Seen something that will do the job? Have something? I'm all ears. Thanks.

I'm considering a simple folding chair. Ready made, attach the bracket, done.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.

When I was bringing my portable SAT DISH with us I used this Winegard model stand.

Mine had a dual head on it and the round carrier was designed to allow you to wrap around all of the RG cable lengths when not being used. Using the handles shown allowed me to use stretch rope to tie down the assembly... One RG cable went to the main TV area and the other RG cable went to the bedroom area to feed the two SAT RCVRs I brought with us.. Then i ran VIDEO cables from the SAT RCVRs to the existing TVs in those locations.

I sit the round SAT Dish assembly on the back of my hard plastic covered truck bed which always reminded me to put the dish assembly away if we was leaving the area. I always imagined that some dish setups might grow feet and run off sometimes.

When the NATL BROADCAST NETWORK from the local towns went to digital format we stopped bringing along the SAT DISH. The high def HDTV from the local towns was much reception then what we got from our standard SAT TV hookup. The beauty of this allowed us to select SAT TV or OTA HDTV using the TV remotes.

what about an artist easel???... sit TV on ledge... you can find them from $20 up depending on whether you get wood or some other material.

I don't think a camera tripod will work that well, especially for the weight. I bought one to mount a whirlygig on for camping and it's not working all that great. They only have a small bolt in the center (1/4"?) and the piece on top of the mount isn't very rigid/stable

I would take a look at a tripod for a survey instrument. Lots on ebay like this one on ebay for $33. Not sure how you would attach the TV mount though.

This is the best RV outside TV mount DIY I have ever seen!
Posted by a fellow forum member. Goes inside the bay and 'extends' out when needed.

Several good ideas here, thanks!

The camera tripod and work light stand led me to find this photo light stand, less than $15 shipped on ebay:

But now I'll have to look at the sat dish tripods. One of these ideas will surely do the job.

Can't you merely mount that extra bracket directly to the outside wall of the truck under the awning, and then just slide the tv on/off, when needed..

You'd have to do a little fabricating to get the mount to attach to the center pole, but a couple U-bolts would probably do the trick. Any of these would work just fine! Be creative: Click here
