Any way to haul 2 RZR's in Toyhauler

We are looking at getting back into the Toyhauler game but are running into problems. First off I only have a 98 Dodge SWR 4x4 Short bed cummins truck with extended cab to tow with so I don't have enough truck to pull a trailer that could haul both RZR's at the same time so my only other option is this. Try to find a shorter travel trailer type that I would put one RZR in the Trailer and the other in the back of my truck bed. But like I said it's only a short bed so not sure if this would even work. My other option is to buy a 5th wheel and tow a trailer behind that. So pull doubles. I don't really have an issue with pulling doubles cause I use to do if for a living as a truck driver back in the day. But my issues are what size 5th wheel could I do this with or could I just buy a non 5th wheel trailer and pull both rzr's behind that? Only issue with that would be weight of second trailer. Any info of how best to do this would be appreciated. We are in unchartered waters on this one. We have owned a 03 WW FS2600 and a Rampage 370 5ver in the past but never anything that we pulled doubles with. So if anyone can help me out here and hopefully post up some photo's of your setup and give some real world insite on doing this that would be sweet.

Sorry for hijacking.

Did you buy the HDT already converted or did you have it done? How's the maintenance costs?

What type of RZRs do you have? 50", S, XP, 800-4, 900-4?

same issue

we used to double tow a smaller trailer just for the side x side's; the 5th wheel didn't have a garage

we just upgraded to a larger toyhauler but we keep the side x side's on the bed of the truck (in the pic below we just have quads on the bed; but we have enough room for a pair of rzr's or rangers); then quads in the garage of the toyhauler

I could get 2 RZRs into my hauler, but you don't have enough truck to tow my trailer.

I have 21' of open cargo to the first cabinet.

I pull doubles, and the only problems have been the states that do not allow it.Since you need a trailer at least 16' to haul the RZRs anyway,I'd look for a 30'TH that has open garage and drop down bunks in back,a couch area that duobles as a bed ,and a bedroom upfront.Had friend with a Ragen,no slide, and it was 28',slept 8,carried 100gal,water etc.nice rig.Put a trailer behind and you are good to go.If you only need one RZR ,put in back of TH,or put one in TH,and one on trailer.I usually take Ranger in TH,2 Grizzelys,400EX,90 Honda,110 Kymco on trailer. All the kids and grandkids go,and we sleep 8...I am looking at smaller trailer single axle to carry 2 Grizzelys on when just the 2 of us go,Ranger in TH 2 Grizzelys on trailer.

What size 5ver do you have and what size tow behind trailer are you using. I only have a 98 Cummins 2500 truck so not sure if I could handle a large 5ver plus another trailer behind. If I thought my truck could handle a 37ft toyhauler I would just go that route and fit both at in the trailer but figure I would be way overweight..

I'll be interested in seeing what you come up with. I'm in a similar situation, albeit without the toyhauler. We like to hit a lot of different trailheads when we head out with our RZR, many of which it isn't practical to park and unload a toyhauler, not to mention the difficulty in packing up the trailer every time you want to hit a trail. The RZR will only fit in the bed of my shortbed Ram if the tailgated is down, and then it is too much weight to reliably haul on the tailgate. Of course, the trailer jack and tailgate would get in a dispute of sorts if I tried to tow that way.

Many years ago, I towed doubles, a camp trailer and boat, but found it was pretty much more trouble than it was worth. Heaven help you if you got in a situation where you had to back up any significant distance, or maneuver while backing. If the boat ramp was a fairly straight shot I could generally launch prior to parking the trailer, but it was tough.

Right now, I'm kind of looking at over the bed racks, but with around 1000 lbs of trailer tongue weight, I think putting the RZR up high on the back of the truck and people, other cargo etc I'd overload my 3/4 ton truck which combined with the elevated center of gravity would probably make it something I wouldn't care to drive.

Good luck, and please post if you find a good solution.

get a travel trailer toy hauler that will haul one and build a rack that will put the front tires of the other one over the cab and the back tires about even with the top of the bed rails. there are some pics of racks people built out there on the web.

We have done the Motorhome and Trailer thing and I absolutely loved it. We had a 35ft Damon Bunk model and pulled a 24ft V-Nose enclosed trailer that I had custom built. Best way for sure but we are in a Pay Cash mode of life right now so for me that's not gonna happen. We are looking to spend sub $20k Sub $15k would even be better. I would even consider a Regular 5th Wheel (Non Toyhauler type) and pull a 14ft trailer with the RZR's on sideways if that would work.. In a way I would even like that better cause we also do a lot of non toy camping. But on the downside the regular 5th wheels don't have near the sleeping capacity as a toyhauler with there double electric queens is the back. We have 3 big kids..

Look at Work & Play toy haulers. Some have some big garages.
