Cabinet door - how to tighten catch

One of the catches on a cabinet door seems loose when you open the door. I thought there was a way to tighten the catch - is there?

On edit: To clarify, it is very easy to open the cabinet door. What I would like to do is pinch the rollers together so it is harder to open the cabinet door. I hope this makes more sense.

Here is a picture of the double roller catch that we have.

Thanks for your help!

Have the same issue on my 'coat closet' that hides all the slide controls, lite switches, etc... it gets opened and closed a lot, so I keep a replacement now... (and actually replaced the one and added a second one since it's been known to pop open when going down the road and if I didn't hold it while opening the super slide, the slide would bind on it when it went out...)
not sure what would break first, the slide seal/edge or the door, but would rather not find out ๐Ÿ™‚

but quick fix ?
get a screwdriver slightly bigger than the male opening and wedge it in there to widen ...

If you're sure the stab portion on the door is going all the way into the roller part when you close the door, there isn't much you can do to adjust it( make sure that happens).

Get a new one. Sold at Home Depot & Lowe's etc. It is a standard kitchen cabinet roller catch.

Good luck.

Normally it just needs to be adjusted, be sure that the two pieces are lining up and centered and that the two pieces are coming all the way together. I have had to shim out the male piece before so they mated together right.

camping world sells a replacement catch that's about 10 bucks but is well worth it if you need this door to stay closed. I don't remember the number but if you go to any camping world and ask they'll know what you need. I had 2 doors that would not stay closed ,one got caught in the slide before i caught it. Incidentally you can order the same catch from amazon for 5 bucks but it comes from an outside vender and the shipping is 5.95, not free.

The rollers on these are spring loaded so that they stay together. If yours are not touching then perhaps the spring has failed and you need to replace the latch. Easy enough as they are standard and sold an alomst any hardware / big box store.

Thanks everyone! I used my fingers to try and pinch the rollers but no luck. I was afraid to use the pliers as I suspected I would break the rollers. I will try to make the prong wider to see if that works.

Can you take a pair of pliers and pinch the rollers closer together? Or perhaps you can spread the part that gets pinched by the rollers, again using pliers?

Not sure which way it is loose but you'll note the roller assembly has slots which would mean that is the adjustable portion of the assembly.
