Cameo/Carriage name being brought back!!

Don't know if its been posted but Crossroads RV is bringing the Carriage and Cameo nameplate back.

Don't be fooled I looked at the the construction info and it ain't no Carriage of old (Lifestyles is)

Domani's used a steel frame by Norco...all other Carriage product
used a frame built from scratch in house made of steel. Hearing of a frame failure on a Carriage is extremely rare.

I admire you for not being a brand basher - there is no point really. I would have to disagree that you are missing out on all the problems by trading every three years. At least in my experience, after three years I've got all the bugs worked out and hesitate to start all that over again 🙂 All of my problems surfaced in the first 6 months - (although I never had too many).

Seems every new model year the manufacturer tries something new to keep pace, and that causes new issues. The latest seems to be residential fridges and working out inverter issues, mounting issues, and even winterizing...

I would venture to say close to 8-10 years. I think the last frame flex issues I heard of was 2006, at least my perception. I'm not a Lippert fan by any means, but I would agree it seems they improved. The 12" Z frame is common along nearly 90 percent of the heavy brands - almost like everything was homogenized with the only difference being colors and floorplan.

I will throw this out there. I have not seen many Lippert frame failures lately on trailers made in the past few years. Maybe they improved their engineering and welding.

I trade mine every 3 years so it really does not matter what brand I have because most likely you will not have too many problems in the first 3 years anyway. Picking up a new Montana Legacy this Saturday and trading a 2013 Landmark Full Body Paint for it!

I think they are all still steel - but I'm not positive about the lite versions.

No it doesn't but thin metal and poor welds can apply just as much to box frames as I beams.

There is no such thing as a Falcon Frame. Falcon "Fit" is a hype where the manufacturer uses all Lippert parts; frame, axles, brakes, steps, jacks, pin box, hitch, etc, versus other manufacturers that mix parts.

Our Redwood is the same hype - Falcon "fit". The concept is the Engineering should be better because its all from the same house, and the ability to repair and get parts should be easier - "one stop shop" so to speak.

What it doesn't streamline is Lippert and the trailer manufacturer figuring out whose fault the problem was and who is going to pick up the cost of the warranty (been there). A bit of finger pointing has to occur, but a good manufacturer will always take care of the customer regardless of Lippert.

Carriage and Cameo I believe are built on Falcon 12" frames. Not Lippert. Can't vouch for Falcon frames.
