Nothing to do with the OP... For some of us there is no room for a whole house water filter, it's got to be an external inline one or nothing.

After watching Valterra's video... Question, why would folks buy a water regulator that contains lead when the same manufacturer sells lead free models that are pretty much the same price?

The rubber boot takes away the ability to climb up water supply hose and enter the rig. Yes they can eat through many materials. I don't see why they would bother with this entry point because it is so closed up.

People have issues with rodents chewing out an opening because there path is marked with sent and they desire to still utilize the path. If one had an issue with past activity it would be wise to replace the water supply hose (to get rid of the trail sent) and install this device. Stainless steel wool stuffed into the boot is an option but is not necessary unless there is noticeable activity.

They (rodents) will still get in, they can eat right thru rubber in a heartbeat. Then they nest and make babies all day long.

Stainless steel window screen works best.

First, I'd get a larger water regulator that is adjustable and use it at the faucet to protect the hose as well. Next, go to Home Depot and get a whole house water filter with a replaceable cartridge.

Now the water system is hooked up right.

I also use a 90 degree fitting and connect my pressure regulator at the faucet end of the hose to prevent the hose from rupturing. I would also recommend that you place the water filter (I also use and highly recommend the same one you have in the photo), at the faucet end of the hose so that you are not hanging so much weight on your trailer fitting.

X2 I have to agree! I have always used the "ninety", and even though I have full house filter, I install the Walmart blue filter! I have worried about rodent control, and used a rag, stuffed down the hole. I realize it won't stop them, but at least I would have an indication! The OP's solution is brilliant, got to try it! Thanks.

Thanks for that cbshoestring. Pressure reg on hose bib is noted and I concur with that recommendation. I do think a pressure reg is highly recommended to not cause over pressure issues with rigs plumbing.

The only part of all that contraption that I agree with, is the brass 90 degree fitting at the entry point. All the rest is fluff of debatable value.

I would recommend you get a real whole house filter also instead of that tiny Walmart special you have and I also have a softener installed in mine.

Appears OP is using a preset Valterra in-line regulator......flow is towards filter.

As suggested OPs water supply hose is not protected from High pressure and relocating it to CG hose bibb would accomplish that.

I prefer a Watts Adjustable regulator vs the preset ones.
I hook it up First at CG hose bibb then a brass 'WYE'....one side is in line filter then a potable water hose and other side is a standard garden hose for general use.
Watts Reg set to 50# static.
