The module is also required for the Ford brake controller, otherwise it things the trailer is not connected and alarms.
Late model Fords do not require a separate module but I'm not sure when that started. Initial setup of the installed controller asks if RV brakes are electric or hydraulic.
Does the module usually come with the installation or does that need to be added after the fact , or by someone else?

Atom Ant,
Your 2008 Ford F350 does not have the "disk/electric" function. I have a 2008 Ford F450 and had to add the Carlisle HBA CAM to get the Ford truck brake controller to function with the hydraulic brake actuator in my RV.
