Need to order new brakes for my 2010 Keystone Montana 3455SA. Want Self adjusting that are 12" x 2", with 7,000 lb axles. Looking for recommendations on brand and good place to buy them online, or otherwise.

Try this place on line. I just bought the 12" x 2" never adjust brake assembly for my BIL's gooseneck trailer. Unbolt the old backing plate, attach the new assembly, connect the wires. Reasonable price also.

I have used this place also with very good luck... And as stated before , I would get the complete backing plate and brake assembly as one... A bit more expensive than just pads but its the whole thing ,magnets , springs , everything!.. Just remember that there are rights AND lefts....

AND E-Trailer is also great online

The 6750 axel rating is the same that our Newmar Cypress has, actually a derated 7000 lb axel .They come with the smaller brake assembly 12x2. I upgraded mine to the larger brake with no issues. The fiver is approx 15k, scale weighed.I pull with a 2015 DMAX with the integrated brake set at 4 only and have loads of stopping power .I went from a P2 controller on our 06 Ram to the integrated controller on the 15 and the difference was day and night with no other changes.

Same here. I got tired of replacing the drum brakes hoping for improvement. I didn't even bother on this RV. I put on discs the first time around Craig

Have you adjusted your brakes??

You do know that being non-self adjusting that you need to manually adjust them periodically due to brake shoe wear.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

I put new brakes on my 5er once hoping for better results that did not happen. Then I put the disc brakes on and WOW what a difference I can stop the entire rig with just the trailer brakes now. Wish I had installed disc brakes the first time.

Dexter is a good brand. Look at the tag on your axles as you may have Dexter axles. That is what I have (7000lb) and my brakes work fine.

Sounds reasonable, but staying with electric brakes for simplicity. Looking at these Never Adjust, looking for opinions.

Have you checked to be sure your brakes aren't "greased"?

All I know, is I want better brakes on our Montana 5th. Even after being checked by the dealer, I don't think it stops well enough, even with brake controller at the max. I'm wondering if a disc brake conversion would be worth it.

Montana list these, and I measured, at 12" x 2", axles at 6750 lbs each. Looking at whole assembly. eTrailer has couple of brands, so seeing what others recommend.
