Has anyone ever had a front kitchen 5'er?

I was wondering why they do not make a front kitchen model and came across one by accident.

I mean the kitchen is where the bedroom typically is. It is definitely different!

Has anyone had one, and what has been your experience?

The layout on the Infinity seems really poorly thought out. With double slides they have the potential for an enormous amount of counter space and the whole front end is taken up with a booth dinette.

OK....now I see why they died out. We went to see a 2006 model today and I see why this floor plan does not work.

At 40', the living room felt very cramped, because the openness between the kitchen and living area have been cut off by the different levels.

To me a kitchen up front doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Different for sure.

Gimick floor plans die quickly.

Leave the front kitchens to the TT's...

Spacecraft Mfg brought one to the Good Sam Rally here in Phoenix. While I liked the quality of the unit, their design lost so much of the basement I wouldn't even consider it.

Wouldn't a front kitchen increase the pin weight quite a bit?

Only problem I see is heat rises in a 5er. The front upper bedroom stays warmer in a standard 5th wheel. So if you're cooking, washing dishes, then I can imagine the upper kitchen would be too warm to cook in part of the year. Good excuse to only cook outside.

Even though, the Infinity looks nice because it's so open. I like the looks of the Front Living Rm, too, but not sure it's as practical as the standard floor plan.

I saw one at the Tampa RV show earlier this year. It was a custom manufactured 5th wheel by Starcraft. The kitchen was lovely and the RV was pretty spacious. However, the custom made RV was pretty pricey.

Considering the kitchen is used more during the day than either the bedroom or the bathroom, I would think going up and down those stairs would get old. IMO I would put it ahead of FL as not being as user friendly.

I saw one also, don't know the brand. We thought it looked great, but not practical fur us. I always think I can carry everything in one trip. I am clutsy enough taking food down the steps outside to the picnic table. Add carrying food etc. down from the front of the fiver...could be a real mess!!
