We only have 8.5 - 9 inches of clearance for the depth of a mattress for our RV. Have any of you bought a mattress from:
Mobile Sleep Concepts
Plush beds
Comfort Custom Bedding
Camping World: Avena Foam RV King or Euro Foam Narrow King

We do not have the 11" of clearance for a Sleep Number bed.

We would appreciate any feedback about the quality & comfort, as well as the buying experience. Thanks!!!

We have had custom mattresses made a couple times. The RV queen we had built was on a shorter inter spring with two 1/4 felts on end side to firm it up. It was great! Go talk to a local custom builder.

The mattress industry seems a bit shady to me. It is what feels good and sleeps well that matters to me.

After years of research, lol. We have several Walmart 4 inch memory mattress toppers on beds. We decided to try stacking two on a sheet of plywood. We have been sleeping on it at home for the past two years.

We also have one topper on our factory RV King Mattress in our 5th wheel. It sleeps good as well. They easily trim to fit. Someday our rv will probably have two toppers in our 5th wheel.

Check Amazon. There are a number of 8" memory foam mattresses that are very good (own one). With Prime shipping (or at least free shipping) they can't be beat.

Depth is limited because it needs to fit under the lip of the sink when the slide is in. Thanks for the suggestions so far! We'll check out the sleeplikethedead.com website. We have found many that are 11" high, but not many 8-8 1/2".

I had the Avena foam in my last motorhome and it was a good mattress, planning on buying another one for my newer motorhome very soon, they now have 2 grades, one is firmer the older style and now the newer plush, its $100 more, I think I am going with the plush this time.

We have a Tempurpedic at home and wanted something similar for the camper but couldn't justify the costs. We tried the mattress topper and that just wasn't comfortable. Some friends had gotten a Spa Sensations 8" memory foam mattress from Wal Mart and liked it so we got one. We have only been out once this year, however, I woke up sick on Friday and wouldn't have even gone except the kids would have been disappointed and we were meeting another family. I stayed in bed all weekend and I must say, it is a very comfortable mattress and compares to our Tempurpedic at home. The best part was that we got a king sized one for $254.01 including shipping and tax.

Most places will custom make one any size you want. We had an Elite Suite where the mattress went under some shelves when the slide closed. Without removing the quilt/blankets etc we could only have a mattress 7-8" tall. Had one made in Tucson....not that much money. We got to specify construction, how much memory foam etc.
