Tires, anything different if we have a Toy Hauler?

We have a little bubble on one of the tires... We have had the Heartland Cyclone 3010 since May 2012. I know we need to change it and I believe all four should be changed.

Is there anything specific or different for Toy Hauler/5th wheel tires that I should be looking for?

Any suggestions on which brand etc? Does TireRack carry these tires? Costs?

I would like to order it online b/c I think it might save the most money, but where would I go to have it changed out? I don't think my Local Walmart would do RV tires.

Skimp on dinner, spend the money on tires - not to have to spend the money on tires again. I would to up a load rating (I did - from E to G) and have a greater cushion. The main reason for tire failure is overloading - as the pressure in the tire drops the load rating of the tire drops. 5-10 psi low and the "correct" rated tire is overloaded.
This may be a good time to start researching TPMS.

Do not put on a ST tire, they are all junk.

Michelin XPS Rib is the best E rated LT tire on the market, IMO.

Sitting on the side of the road in 110 drgrees,looking at the damage done to your refrig,heater and entire side of your trailer,is not the way you'd like to START,your week of vacation....and that was only the begining,then you deal with tire companys..it's not my fault,your RV dealer..it's not my fault,insurance...it's not covered and all you wanted to do was go relax and unwind.The best money you will spend is on the tires.....You can't have fun if you can't get there,everything else is easy. My 2 cents.Been there done that. Now have ribs.

Yes Dougford. Not happy but also not suprised about the bubble. I will see if there is a discount tire close by.

Also change ALL the tires right? I'm sure we will have problems with the other three soon.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'm sorry I'm unsure about the load. We would at times carry 3 motorcycles in the back - I can look up the weights - we also have the extra fuel tank as well. Dry weight is 394 lbs for two of the motorcycles and the other motorcycle is 423.3 pounds wet, so approximately 1200# of motorcycles. Of course that won't include all the other incidentals like extra gas, water, food etc etc.

Thanks Y-guy, you are probably right. I will look around for prices and see about costs. There are a few RV dealers near me - and of course Camping World. I'll do a search and find out about prices. I appreciate the help!

I use the Power King Towmax ST tires from Tire Rack. I had them on my travel trailer for several thousand miles without any problems and I'll be putting them on my toy hauler as soon as the tires on it need to go.

People on here are gonna give you******if you don't use GoodYears or Maxxis etc.

Have a 2012 Cyclone 300c. Bubble on sidewall after a trip. Went with 17.5" and Goodyear G114's. Never looked back.

The few bucks you might save online will be spent mounting and balancing. Do some local work and get some prices, then compare online. Then you can negotiate with the local guys.

ST or LT or even P tires with the proper capacity are used on trailers. Type of trailer doesn't make any difference to a tire.

If your present tires are the low cost made in china special trailer (ST) I would up grade to a USA branded LT with the proper capacity. If one is showing delam signs then the others aren't far behind.

You left us in the dark as we have no idea what size/load range tires your inquiring about.

A toy hauler will have a higher GVW. I would go to a LT tire with the highest load rating I could find and not made any where close to China

Anway, I've used Discount Tire before. their prices are reasonable, and I just parked the camper (it was a 20-foot bumber pull at the time) in their parking lot and they mounted the tires. Not sure you have a one near you. I would also ask Walmart. You never know what they might do...
