Hello,
I know I could ask this question on the Good Sam sub forum but I wanted to ask other rver's what they thought.
Is the magazine a good subscription to buy or is it just full of ads wanting you to buy 100k motor homes? If you ever read a cigar afficinado magazine you know what I mean.thanks

I find it worth the price of the subscription.

Yes it may only take about 20 minutes to read but it's all good reading. Always good 10 minute tips , destinations, and how they helped someone get their money back on a warrentee situation. I have been a reader for years and just renewed for 3 more.

I am a subscriber to TL magazine. Have been for 3 years. Last time I renewed it, it was cheap. IIRC about a $1.00+ per issue. Can't really go wrong with that. Yes it has lots of ads but no worse than any other mag. Pick up a diesel truck magazine. It's ridiculously full of ads.
TL has some really good articles on maintenance as well as some good reviews of trailers. JMHO but I think it's worth getting.

I enjoy Trailer Life and will continue to subscribe.

Just one man's opinion here:
I gave up on mine. It kept getting thinner with more ads and less useful info.
I could completely get through it in 20 minutes.

It's been 2 years since I subscribed so it might be improved now??

I agree with most of what you said, but in the last few months it has gotten better, my opinion.

I cancelled mine several years ago when it became little more than a vehicle for Camping World advertisements. Camping World, Good Sam, Trailer Life, etc. all owned by same and everything they do is intertwined for their benefit.

Although it has gotten thinner in past years there is some good info on DIY projects and RVing destinations, and since it doesn't cost much more than a $1 per issue I will continue to subscribe. Not sure about receiving loads of junk mail just because we have a subscription, we maybe see a few pieces a month across the board from all their enterprises and simply chuck them in the recycle bin if we are not interested.

I look forward to every issue of Trailer Life. Totally agree it does get thin over winter months. So what. Still a good mag as far as I'm concerned.

I enjoy reading it monthly. Lots of ads but what magazine or paper doesn't. Good articles on destinations and tech tips.

There is a lot of ads in both Trailer Life and Motorhome magazines. It has been getting smaller.
There is some good articles along with some good tech tips.
Another item is Hot line. This helps in understanding potential problems with dealers and other suppliers.
You can opt out of getting the deluge of junk mail.
I would suggest getting a subscription and decide for your self.

Totally disagree, Trailer Life and Motor home magazine have outstanding articles on detestations and repair and maintenance questions. This month in MH there was an article on how to redo slide out toppers and a excellent article on Ft Meyers Florida

It come free with a Good Sam membership but I would gladly pay for it

The problem with magazines, not just Trailer Life, is a lot of water goes under the bridge between issues. In this 21st century even daily newspapers have trouble keeping up. Like previously posted more up to date info in forums. Everything is on line now.

I gave up my subscription some time a go as it was full of ads and really biased test results largely dependent on who was the paid advertiser. Just my opinion.

I found that all RV magazines may have one good article and the rest yes is all ads.

More importantly is, that if you subscribe to anything Good Sam expect mega tons of junk mail forever in your mailbox. I don't find it worth it.

IMHO You can learn more by joining a good RV forum or RV brand specific forum.
