I level side to side, put front landing gear down, put in chocks, disconnect, level front to back. While I am hooking up the water, sewer, etc. the DW opens the slides and prepares the inside for living. I get done first so I help her finish the inside.

Same here.

For folks without a leveling system, how would you level AFTER the slides are out? With my dual axles, I have to move the camper a few feet either forward or backward, place the blocks, and then move the camper back onto them. I couldn't imagine doing that with the slides fully deployed...

For me, it seems to work better to level side to side then front to back then open the slides.

When setting up, we run the front legs down and unhook off the hitch / truck.
Press the Level Up Button and wait till it completes.
Open all the slides.

When breaking down, we retract the slides first.
Hit the Level Up Retract Button.
Hit the Level Up return to hitch up position.
Hitch up the Truck.

Level first. On ours, I have opposing slides and would have to climb under them to add 2x to level side to side if I extended them first. That would be too much of a pain. Front to back no problems.

We level twice. Before and after we put the slides out. HWH in Iowa said level first.

I have hydraulic jacks front and rear.

1) Level front to back with front jacks.
2) Extend slides
3) Extend rear jacks
4) Level side to side

When time to break camp:
1) Retract rear jacks
2) Retract slides
3) Adjust front jacks for hitch

This sequence for set up and take down results in the least torque and stress on my trailer frame.

This applies only to hydraulic systems with or without auto leveling.

IMHO, it just makes good sense to level first. Otherwise, as stated it could put undue stress on the slide out, and/or the mechanism!

It's hard to imagine why anyone would need slides out first, unless of course the obvious being you think slides put the coach off level.
