With only the bedroom slide open, can I run the propane furnace? It appears two floor vents in the living room area will be covered by the slide but the bedroom vent will be clear.

If I am at a parking lot rest area or other overninghting spot I try to keep everything closed. With the rear vents covered all the heat goes to the front bedroom where I need it. The drawers opposite the foot of the bed will not open with the slide in so if I need to open a drawer I move the slide just far enough to get what I need then close it.

His question was if ONLY the bedroom slide is out can I run the furnace. I have a 36 SB3 Mobile Suites it is probably a bit different but I would not hesitate running the furnace. Your bedroom and toilet heat grilles are open and the others won't be completely sealed off so I see no problem at all!

He obviously did not want to or could not extend the other slides.

I can't see it causing a back pressure problem. When our bedroom slide is in the rear register is blocked but the room still gets warm. It's not like its sealed off. It just has to deviate a bit.

I would always ask WALMART if I could open up. I have actually opened up my POPUP a couple of times (The end that opened up out over the grass area).

Usually no problem is you ask first - however when shift change time comes around after midnight you may get a knock on your door haha... Has happened to me once.

I really don't like staying in those places but sometimes you gotta do what you need to do. We stayed overnight one time at a BASS PRO SHOP in a ALA parking lot which had an actual RV Parking area with rolls of shrubs separating the parking area. Even had a 120VAC 20AMP receptacle. This was better than alot of camp sites we have stayed at...haha We brought a few things from the shop and had breakfast there the next morning...

Win Win for both parties...

I believe most campgrounds will allow all of the slides to be extended and allow the grills, carpets, chairs, awning lights, etc. to be layed out.

And why not put all slides out? Taking up the space is taking up the space, slides out or not.

Putting out the chairs, the grill table, the umbrella now that is stretching it a bit.

More and more Wallmarts and local municipalities are eliminating overnighter's, because certain people take it way past the limit! Slides, bbqs, lounge chairs and many, leaving a mess for others to clean up. Why can't people except it as a very unique privilege and treat it that way! It's those kind of people making government bigger by requiring ordinances backed by law to stop it. Talking about creating more government regulations, it that kind of "behavior" that eliminates a nice perk! I have a friend with Wallmart Realestate, who told me they welcome the ordinances, cause it take the blame off them!

I agree with Randu, and besides, the the air temp coming from the vent isn't so hot , as to be a fire hazard. If nothing else, you may find that the bedroom is warmer than you like, because the Thermostat is in the front area, which isn't getting all that heat, but eventually, it will settle down.

Happy Camping:)

I do it many times during colder months. The living room slides do cover the vents but the bottom of the slide is 1" or just a bit more above the carpet so more than enough clearance for the heat to travel under the slide. Randu
