Hi all I have questions on these stupid pleated blinds.
my large window in LR slide out has the day night shades and keeps coming unstrung...I had the guy from the RV place fix it once when he was here for something else but now it has broken again...I open and shut each day. I know they can be restrung and there are videos if you can even understand how to do it from video. I have searched the forums here for blind questions or replacement option but cant seem to find anything.
I can not even tell how they are hung in there I mean like the bracket. I was thinking I could replace with regular mini blinds but I do not think there is a way to hand a bracket for that type of blind...can anyone here direct me please to any thread on this or anyone that has done it?
I have the 2011 Jayco Eagle 351rtls

I have restrung many times. I now use fishing braided monofilament in place of cords. Works much better and last lots longer.

X2 We Have these on all the windows in our Montana. They are very nice but pricey. We had the pleated shades in our Laredo and I became quite good at fixing them but still never liked them.

ok thanks for the info! I see that the screw holding the little what I call bobbin came out so I screwed it back in but the strings are loose and still wont stay up. I am propping it with a back scratcher of all things GEEZ!

Put a litte tension on the string, slide it under the bobbin and tighten screw on the bobbin. The shade requires tension on the string to stay up.

X3 on dirty blind guy. I bought the 300 ft roll in white and restrung 9 blinds and still have enough to do the last two I need to do. I had these brass inserts on my blinds and drill them all out and replaced them with the nylon inserts he had and glued them in. All the blinds still work great

I noticed at the RV show in Seattle that pleated blinds are a thing of the past. Now they just use those retractable vinyl shades.

If you say it is just loose, tighten the string. Loosen the thing you call a bobbin and pull the string a little tighter, then tighten. There is a spring at the end of the strings that keeps the string tight.

X2 for the Dirty Blind Man. We have resting most of the ones in our 2006 Pace Arrow, after the first one it's easy. Hardest part is getting them off the window.

When I restrung mine I went to a Hunter Douglas authorized dealer and got one size up string and did my own. Yes its a pain, but the videos do help explain what to do. I have never had a replacement string break so as long as you get a quality string it should last indefinitely.
