I have an opportunity to buy this motorhome for $45,000. It's 42' long with 3 slides, 10k Onan generator, in motion satellite, air bags and auto levelers among other things. Owner says it is in mint condition with 48,000 miles. It has a 400 HP cummins. Pictures are at address below. Sorry I can't make clicky. We've camped in a fifth wheel for several years, but never had a motorhome. I think the pictures are mostly from when it was new. Thanks for any input and advice. This price seems very low compared to what I've seen on the internet.

SCAM...SCAM.....SCAM...
"There's a sucker born every minute" is a phrase most likely spoken by David Hannum, in criticism of both P. T. Barnum, an American showman of the mid 1800s, and his customers. The phrase is often credited to Barnum himself. It simply means to con people out of their money.

SCAM is what it feels like for SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anytime they will not allow financing(why would they care, they get their money) and will not go to where the rig is to show it off, TROUBLE WITH A DOUBLE T. STAY AWAY it is that they get the money and disappear!!! Thieves do this all the time, not accusing anyone of anything but telling my pal on this site to stay away or you may be very sorry for having lost that money. Just saying!!!!!!!!!

Just in case anyone here is still thinking they might try to cash in on this unbelievable opportunity to steal this coach, let me tell you what I found when I checked this out when this thread started.

The rig can be found advertised from coast to coast HERE.

The guy that answered my email calls himself Martin Bowen. As stated above, he says the rig is in Adams, MN but he is at his business in Blue Ridge GA building houses.

Will not sell to you if you are financing.

He will not travel to MN to meet you unless you use an escrow service, then he can have it delivered to anywhere in the US for inspection.

The email he replies from a domain called mbgconstruct.com. If you check out that domain, you find that it is in fact a working website at http://mbgconstruct.com/ so it seems to jibe with the story in the email. Clever huh? ๐Ÿ™‚

Things start to really fall apart when you find that the mbgconstruct.com is newly registered a couple months ago in Dec. 2013.
And then you find out that it is a copy of another website that was registered about 10 years ago. http://www.stalwoodconstruction.com/

I'm not saying it's a scam. Just showing you what I found.

If it is a scam, he's pretty good and has probably taken a good bit of cash in deposits by now.

I think there is a scam, do they want a registered check etc.? I would call the police in the town it is located and see if they know the owner. Craigslist has lots of these scams, there is no doubt it is scam but follow up, could be an old guy who just wants to dump it. You want a Mechanic check over the engine, an RV tech check over the interior working systems(make sure all systems work) but my gut tells me it is a big fat SCAM!!! Be careful!!!
All the pictures are from a new coach and not the real coach from what I could tell which is a big problem and clue it is scam,if they have money for the MH then they have a damn camera!

This rig was listed in our local Greensburg, PA newspaper a week ago. Also listed at 45K. A 2006 Dynasty for that price got my attention, I thought the price must be a misprint, so I sent an email requesting more info and pics. The man who obviously is a home builder is currently building homes in Georgia, the rig is inside storage up in Minnesota. He listed all of the features in and on the rig accompanied by pics. in my opinion, the pics looked current (different brand tires on the tag-axle, seat cushions showing some use, etc)
At the end of his email he has it advertised as $45,000.00.

NOW.....starting yesterday there is an ad in the same newspaper for a 2006 Monaco Knight 40 DFD for $40,000.00...text 1-484-558-0104, or emailtender901@live.com.

Are these scams or national advertisement networking?

ROTFLMAO I must have emailed the same guy in August. I dont remember the coach but we were at our vacation house in Fla. and was checking Craig's list and got the same story building houses in Georgia and the rv was in storage in Vt.

Sometimes the obvious can be proven wrong with enough research. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Is anyone thinking that this still might be a true deal? Let me know.

Well, I guess I'm the person that rvis 2005 is talking about, but my thinking is -- if you never check these deals out and label them all as scams, you will never find a deal. We did get our coach for a very good price and have been fulltime in it for about 3 years now. No major problems or repairs needed. But -- when we found it, we checked it out and we found a great deal. Never hurts to check and now the OP has checked by using resources available and knows its a scam, but you never know what you will find if you follow up.

So here is the real question. Why?

Why is this guy or group spending their time advertising a non-existent RV at a ridiculous price?

I am only guessing, but maybe someone will call wanting this screaming deal, and send them a deposit sight unseen.

Is that the game, or are they harvesting emails and phone numbers of RV owners who inquire ?:h
My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Sure looks like a nice coach. But my Pappy always told me if it sounds to good to be true well....Please beware when we were first looking at used coaches I also found a couple of coaches that were too good to be true.Happy Trails...

Scam. I've seen this all over the web for years. No mystery to most of us. If there's someone in this thread who thinks this is a reality, that is what confuses me. Oh well, some folks thought they would get healthcare for free too. Tommy:?

Thanks for all the input so quickly. Especially the links to the other ads. The ad in the Tampa paper used a very similar email address as the one I saw in the Des Moines Register. I found another ad myself in the Denver Post. This is definitely a scam. Guess I'll go back to the fifth wheel forum. Thanks again.
