Ad nauseam. There are great opinions out there! This is not one of them. Telling someone not to worry about their MPGs is like telling McDonalds not to worry about the cost of a 7 cent cup. Why worry about cents when you make billions? It all most certainly matters in the end, but then again we already covered this quote; ad nauseam. Obviously the OP doesn't "IMO" your attitude on MPG, or they would not have asked....

tinkerer, same here! We have found that there are a lot of different factors when rolling down the road. The nice thing about the big diesels is the the +/- is relatively small no matter what you are towing. I haven't seen as low as 5.5, but a strong headwind going uphill gave me 6. Normal conditions, we stay right in the mid 7s. My truck pulling a FW stayed between 9-10. So when we did the math, the 2.5 mpg difference didn't equate to much and having 100 gallons of diesel vs 34 is huge! I like not fueling unless I want to!
For those that keep feelin the need to pipe in and ask why, I too want to ask why? If you think the OP doesn't deserve your response, don't give it! Ever get a check in the mail for 17 cents? The accounting always matters and if someone owes you 17 cents, they will pay postage, print and paper, just to get it to you because the books must be right. Same thing when figuring costs on RVing, everything matters and I agree with the OP and I DO track my mileage. If you start getting 5 and always got 8, something is wrong! I think it is important to know all the costs. It is smart. Why post otherwise basicially telling the OP they are silly for wanting to know?

Just curious, why would your ISL have only 380 hp? Our ISL has 425 hp.
For comparison to the OP, we weigh just over 40,000 lbs. and have averaged about 7.0-7.2 mpg over 65,000 miles pulling a 3,400 lb. toad. I like going about 60 mph.
