It took me 16 years but now I have done it again, must be old age.:)

I had a small pickup pass me and the passenger was waving like crazy and pointing to the back of my motor home. I pulled over and found out my 50 amp power cord was trailing behind me. I think every RV park should have someone at the gate to warn forgetful or careless drivers store their power cords or put down their antenna or close the slides before they hit the street or freeway.
:W

Of course I'm the only one who does things like that, aren't I?

I'm on my third gas cap. Obviously, my rig does not have a handy tether leash built into the cap. I bought two replacements at Advanced Auto type places, so far. Now my first step, while refueling, is to remove the cap and put it in my pocket, NOT set it on top of the pump.

Oh heck no you are not the only one in this club. Haven't done this with the power cord YET but I'm open minded.

I did that last month My cord is on a power reel so I only lost 4 feet off the end. There after, the cord was the first to get stowed.

Thats where routine is so important. Yet we all know things happen that pull us from that routine. So far I deal with the inside stuff and hubby does the outside stuff. I drive, so he stays outside until I clear the campsite then enters the coach. But we still ask each other questions "did you do this? was that done? The usual answer is "yes dear I did" It's a joke, but we both understand how easy it is to forget something.
Our last weekend adventure I asked if hubby packed the Scotch and toothbrushes? His response was "which is more important?" After a brief discussion we both decided the Scotch.
Life is short laugh, learn and move on.

I have to use this 16inch pipe for my WDH on my trailer. It's used to crank the chains into place. Anyway, I seem to manage to forget it on top of the propane tanks every other time I drive off. About 5 - 10 minutes into the drive, typically around a turn or coming to a stop, I hear this pipe fall down and start rolling away! Aahhh!! I can't believe I haven't already lost the thing.

In March of this year we were at a campground in New Mexico. Even though my digital readout will tell me several important things, like 'antenna is up', you have to read it to know it!

Well, I didn't lower it and I hit a low utility wire on the way out of the campground. Even though the antenna was pulled from the base, it still picked up a signal just fine. It wasn't too bad to have it replaced, about $150.

Our coach digital readout will also warn of the following:
-antenna is up
-must close slides to engage transmission
-shore power cord is connected
-bay door is open
-engine door is open
-window is open

My better half is responsible for double checking my outside procedures in case I have brain gas and forget. A couple of times this summer after I started the coach to air it up she reminded me to unhook the electric.

1999 was the last time that it happened to me! I pulled out of a RV Park on the Twisp River, Eastern Washington State with my Sat. Dish up. The RV Park owner saw that it was up, got into his pick up truck and chased me down before I got to the low train bridge.
