Entry Steps too high at times what do you use?

Sometimes when we setup if the ground is not level the electric 2 steps are still pretty high. It has mostly to do with the topography of where we set up it isn't always an issue. Do they make an add on step you can add or should we just get a portable step?

We have found this to be perfect. We have never been anywhere that was too out of level to require more.

I carry around one of these, a basic Rubbermaid Step Stool:

IIRC, bought it at a Walmart for about $12. A year or so prior, in a pinch because it was a really big leap, where we were staying, I went to the local closest Home Depot for a couple $2 each CMU’s, that went into the dumpster at the end of that week’s stay. It was cheaper than wrecked knees.

I did one of these, as in This Thread a few years back, but gave it away to daughters MIL for their trailer, worked quite well for them.

I made mine out of 1x4s sort of like you might see in a shower .
Super simple nearly every thing the same length except the 2 ends .
A drill and screws is about all I needed .

An old wooden coke box is similar to mine except I made the top boards
spaced apart 1/2" . Lowes has white wood boards that have rounded
corners so they don't have sharp edges , that's what I used .

Mine is about 18" x 24" x 4" tall , you can make it any size or height
I made one for home that is 4 ft x 8 ft because I park on dirt
Trailers usually need more height but this is just right for our moho .
If I make another one I'll probably make it a little bigger maybe 24" x 30"
We find it is one of the handiest things we have in the RV .
It isn't heavy and will go in a storage bay or in the PU .
Stored up side down it becomes an organizer . When breaking camp I just
turn it up side down , fill it with miscellaneous and slide it in a bay .

Use the aforementioned step stool or, if possible, lower the coach.

We use a six inch plastic step stool - same one my wife occasionally uses to reach upper cabinets.

Depends on how much "First step" I need.

Due to some other issues I carry a bunch of lumber 2"x12"x3' Sometimes I'll use one or two of them

I have a Green Garden thing Folded up it makes a good first step
Like this one from Lowes Though I don't know where I got mine (likely Big Lots).

it has other uses too

And I just picked up a metal 350 pound capacity step (Taller) from Horrible Freight. IT's very nice.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Here is the step I made a few years ago using my CNC router.

This all slipped together and was very stable but it was not adjustable for height but it did break down flat. I was just hoping to find something that would store on the existing step.

I've seen what you're talking about but with the price (around $300) I didn't take any notes.

For under $10 and 1/2hr, built one out of 2x4s...Not the lightest but literally used it to help jack up the trailer one time when the jack wasn't tall enough

I tried a adjustable one and found that was a pain to work and in 1/4 inch increments wasn't worth the trouble.

So I went with a solid fold up one This one works just fine

I built a large step 30x24x6 inches to help my mom get into the Suburban. Since it is already in the back of the truck I use it as an additional trailer step as needed.

I made the step large so people can step up and stand on it before thinking about taking the next step. It's also nice to just come down the stairs and not really think about placing my foot correctly on a small stool.

I'm not sure how much room you would have to store a step in a class A. But I would build a step as large as I could comfortably transport and handle.
