Seems like everywhere I go, I get called down by the park ranger, etc. Previous violations include parking my golf cart in the wrong spots by the beach walkway, no campground pass on my golf cart, expired golf cart pass, driving the wrong way, no state decal for golf cart, parking my tow vehicle on the grass and not completely on the gravel area several times, hanging a light from a tree limb, and so forth....Just wondering...am I just a rebel or do others get in trouble like me? Only the perfect motorhomers can tell me to just follow the rules.

Someone who breaks rules as often as you should do a better job. Either go with the status quo or learn how to not get caught. Being consistently apprehended for such minor violations is just lame.

I'dd say The Park Rangers have a thing against golf cars ask for a supervisor next time they start bit*hing (please excuse that :S ) but there just waiting for some one to write up, Its not like any body is robbing banks and going 30 over in these national/state parks.

More like harassment.

Sounds like you have some dough and think because that, you are above the law. If you park next to me, it would only be a matter of time till I call a spade a spade and move to another spot.

They are picking on you plan and simple. You are special and shouldn't have to follow the rules like the rest of folks.
I'm sure you have been told you are special all your life.

Just ignore them....rules are for others.

Nope, never been harassed by the park ranger or the camp host but then I do read up on all of the park rules before visiting most campgrounds. I do find a bunch of the rules stupid, some just plain common sense, and some are put in place to cover the parks a*$ against frivolous lawsuits. Thank the people that won't take responsibility for their actions and greedy ambulance chaser lawyers for many of the rules.

Example of a stupid rule: As of 2013 you can no longer hang a hummingbird feeder at your campsite at a USDA Forest Service Campground in AZ. Our camp host (great couple that ran this campground) let us leave ours out because he felt it was a stupid rule also...in fact he had a feeder out at his site. This rule wasn't posted on the website or in the pamphlet at the campground. I prefer to boondock anyway, don't care for neighbors or rules, if I wanted to deal with all that I would stay home and form a neighborhood HOA..Lol.

I suspect you are a different class of folks then the most of us...

I am basing this on your $350K price tag on your 42-foot Motorhome coupled with your bring along golf car shown in your profile page...

It may be one of these REVERSE SNOBBERY things... You might need to be staying where Dale Junior stays...

Do you really think a Ranger is going bust us for drinking a cold beer in a go cup sitting out in front of our off-road popup camper...

Just saying...
My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - Words in CAPS does not mean I am shouting

As soon as we check in and get set up I sit down and read the rules. In addition to the rules, I obey all posted signs (one way, speed limits, etc.) For example, we have bikes and LOVE to ride the parks in the afternoons/evenings. However, a recent park had a rule that said bikes and motorcycles could only be used to get to and from your site, thus they could NOT be ridden through the park just to look around. While others violated the rule, I kept my bike locked the entire 8 days we were there and just walked the park on foot instead. I don't park any tires on any non-approved surface either. Am I perfect? No, FAR from it! However, I ask and require campgrounds to uphold all rules so I must abide by them as well, or it is not fair to ask them to enforce them on others. Just my two cents!!

"however your dealing with people who had aspired to be state patrol but were not bright enough and had to settle for "park ranger"."

That's also an interesting point of view.

One time we were in a National Park, and DH pushed our car caddy back behind the picnic table. The host stopped by and politely asked us to move it on to the paved part of the pad. They explained that it can kill the vegetation. The wild horses do roam freely there, and depend on the vegetation to survive. After they mentioned it, I could see their point. We apologized and moved it. Wasn't done deliberately on our part, and we corrected the situation immediately.

We always try to make sure we follow the rules, but if we mess up and it's pointed out to us, we correct it and make a mental note to not do that again. I appreciate having the privilege of camping in our National and State parks and don't want to jeopardize that.
Whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.

We've never been approached by a camp host or ranger to tell us we're doing something wrong. Maybe it's just us..following the rules and all.

It's a good thing that you're thinking "Hey people, is it just me?"
