Ford V10 no starting power

Hello Ford owners, I cranked up the motor home two weeks ago with no problem but the engine rpm would go up and down slightly. Nothing I thought would be a problem until recently when I went to start up the engine and the dash would not light up or starter crank the engine. I checked the battery which had a full charge and cleaned the connections but still no crank or dash power. I cleaned the connections to the starter and a couple ground wires but still nothings working at the dash or starter. I do hear a weak muffled thump when I turn the ignition. I checked the salesman switch but it seems to be working. When I cleaned the starter wires I accidentally touched the hot wire to a ground and the starter engaged so I know power is getting to the starter. I found no power going to half the battery control box so when I added power the dash came alive but still no cranking available to start the engine. Please help me with any ideas you have.

Good news folks, problem solved. The chassis shut off relay was toast. It was burnt up inside and making no contact so it shut off all chassis power. The BCC box had to be disassembled in order to fix the problem as the relays are behind the circuit board. While it was apart, checked the coach relay which looked like new. Now my refrigerator smells like ammonia so onward i go to fix it with and Amish replacement coil. At least there is video on line to help with this repair project.

MY MISTAKE, IT IS THE P13 POST NOT P19. FLEETWOOD TRIED TO HELP AND HAS SENT ME A WIRING SCHEMATIC AND TROUBLE SHOOTING PLAN. ONE ADDITIONAL DISCOVERY IS BOTH THE SHUT OFF RELAYS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING AND THE COACH APPEARS TO BE STUCK IN THE ON POSITION. IT IS POSSIBLE THE CHASSIS RELAY MIGHT BE STUCK IN THE OFF POSITION WHICH REQURES ME TO TAKE APPART THE BCC 😞 TO FIND OUT WHY. I WILL POST RESULTS.

I replaced the solenoid/relay with mixed results. I had to add 12v power to the P19 post on the outer portion of the BCC which had no power going to it. This activates the right side fuse panel in the BCC which is suppose to be energized continually. I am making progress as once I added power to that portion of the bcc she cranked up and started like nothing was wrong, however, she stopped running when I removed the power to the P19 post. If anyone knows where this post is suppose to be drawing its power, please let me know. Thanks for the posts in response to my problem.

Just replaced one. Find the pos. wire on battery and start tracing back. Should be next thing in line.

Do you at least hear a firm "click" when you try to engage the starter? If not, and the battery is definitely good, then my bet is the solenoid as well. Should be on reh firewall somewhere. Very easy to replace and can be picked up at most any auto parts store.

Look first on the firewall and in and around the passenger side fender.

I have a Fleetwood 2000 Pace Arrow Vision 36B. Can anyone tell me where the remote mounted starter solenoid/relay is located on this motor home? Thank you for the suggestion 427435

Usually, when a Ford engine doesn't crank (with a good battery), it is the remote mounted starter solenoid/relay.

Thank you for the information printed on the panel of BCC which was good to know and slightly helpful. It did put a name to the power input P13 which has no power going to it. If I add power to P13 it energizes the dash allowing me to bring dash controls online, but does nothing to help me engage the starter. The line is engulfed by a large bundle of other wiring sealed with black plastic. The P13 line is also a fuseable link. I did try the switch which uses the coach battery to assist in the start up with no success.

Did you try the emergency start switch to shunt the coach batteries over to the chassis?

There is a wiring schematic for the BCC on the inside of the cover. Trace back the unpowered section with a volt meter until you find where the voltage is.
