Looking for a Class A with one slide

We are looking to purchase a new-to-us Class A and have looked at several. While we like the added room you get with slide outs, it's frustrating that having the bedroom slide means you can't get around the bed while the slide is in. I don't think we care about extra room in the bedroom. Can anyone recommend a smaller Class A (30-34 feet) that DOESN'T have a bedroom slide, or would allow you to walk around the bed with the slide in? We're looking to spend around 40k.

Our 34' Landau has a single 14' "super slide" in the living/dining area, and the queen bed is fully accessible at all times. That was one of our criteria in selecting it, that the rig had to be fully accessible with the slide in. With it in, the only thing we lose besides the obvious floor space, is access to one seldom used 120-volt outlet.

Our 29.2 has a large slide but does not include the bedroom. So the slide does not change the ability to access the bedroom.

I have a 29.3 2017 ACE with one slide. In fact the slide is almost the length of the unit. Can I get around the bed NO do I see a need no, but then thats me. Good luck in your search

I have a 2001 gasser with one slide. Get back to me in October. Might be for sale then.

And I forgot to mention, the bedroom on the single slide Rexhall had very limited closet space. The bedroom slide in the DP allows me to have a closet that runs almost the full length of the back of the motorhome.

My 99 coach has only one slide (as did many back then). Like Msmith1199, I find the bedroom very tight and would much prefer the extra space a bedroom slide would provide.

Can't directly answer your question, but I can add to the previous poster. I went the opposite direction from you. First motorhome was a Rexhall with one slide. Queen bed in the back with the head of the bed toward the rear of the motorhome. It was liveable, but the space between the bed and the wall was very tight and hard to move around in and make the bed. Next motorhome had three slides with the bedroom slide as you described blocking access to the back closet and cabinet. It really hasn't been that much of a problem. It's a short slide so it opens really easy and when open gives so much more room in the bedroom to move around and make up the bed. Yeah, I've climbed over the bed a few times to get to the closet but to me the extra space when open was worth the blocked access.

How often would you need to access the bedroom without putting the slide out? While you're driving? Having lunch while traveling? Even if you boondock at WalMart you could just scoot over to the one slide for one night. I don't think I'd concentrate on finding a no-slide bedroom.

However, here are some that you might consider or just to get an idea of what's out there. I didn't look through all of them but there at 29' 2015 Tribute (never heard of the make); a 29' 2014 A.C.E. and a 35' 2013 Hurricane for starters.
